The final game for the Summer Tournament is Stinger.   Considering that everyone in this tournament has been performing at an elite level, and the fact that this is final round, the rules will be THE SAME for all 3 tiers.

The Rules:  (all tiers)

* 1 player only
* Play until Game Over
* Take your picture when the demo starts up after the Title Screen.  Your picture will be in the high score spot.
* You may loop the game as many times as you want
* Highest score wins

The contest ends Sunday, 7/26/15 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

There's a problem though. There is no way to show the amount of lives you have when you die. Crap. I smell a rule change.

I was afraid that it was going to be a puzzle game. I'm definitely ready for a shooter after the pacifist rules last week.

Same thing here (again). I found one on ebay this morning from a seller that had same day shipping in the listing, so my fingers are crossed.

I don't have an extra cart of this one either ... I traded one a couple of months ago.

Yeah, a game I love and I'm eliminated. Oh well, at least I don't have to stress over the 1 life rule for a third week straight.

I found another issue. You can't pause the game during a boss battle so if you die, there's really no time to stop and take your picture. If you play until game over, your score only stays up for about 3 seconds, but it does hold your score during the demo if you wait long enough for it to loop around.

 

I am going to order 2 and hope it works out. Fingers crossed for us and anyone else who doesn't have the game.

I guess that I'll have to do like I did last week and play on my laptop until my cart (hopefully) gets here.

Like lots of shooters,this game loops. In the event someone loops the game do they stop there or keep going until they lose a life?

I checked the TG rules and they are to simply play until game over, so it shouldn't be an issue to keep playing.

Ah, one of my favorite games on the NES, its cool to see it getting played! I am curious to see what kind of scores you guys can put up!!!

Major rules update, guys. Please re-read the rules before you get started playing. ninjistar, your score will still count, but you'll probably want to play the game again. The new rules clear up any issues with capturing a score.
