You can do it, Logo.
Here's some tips to get some of them fast enough:
Joe:
Punch him when he is returning from his taunt at 42s. Time it right and he won't come back.
Kaiser:
He loves giving starts. Get one by giving a body blow before he does and uppercut, dodge the next, punch, star punch. He is down
Don:
Can't time the punch to get the star at the start of the match? No worries. Make him do his uppercut, dodge and hit him with left, right combos till he is down.
When he gets up, punch him in the stomach, dodge the next punch, stun him with a punch in his face and star punch. Repeat for TKO
Honda 2: Wait for him to do his Piston attack at one minute, punch him in the stomach when he is coming back. Instant KO at 1:00:99

For Macho, just follow the posted videos. Hippo is random, but simple to beat.

Go and try. You can get a nice time.

This doesn't count for anything, but I figured I'd go for the straight KO on Mike Tyson just for fun since he ruined my speed attempt:

Always a good plan when he ruins your speed attempts.
He deserves it when it happens!

Edit: Also, pretty good new SMM time.

Thanks! Tyson did that stall tactic where he just stands in place for 5-6 seconds around the 40 second mark to me about 10 times straight and I finally had enough of his nonsense. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

I HATE when he does that. It screws up the run pretty badly!

Watching this was pretty entertaining and informative. Glad he's not competing in this,he'd win for sure.

Yeah, he would.
Pretty solid run there. His Tyson time was slow because he didn't go for the delayed punches. I wouldn't either on that situation, and he had bad luck with Macho pattern, which did cost him a lot of time.

Quite impressive work there.

What was he using for a controller? It is so loud.

It sounded like he was using a keyboard to me. I don't use emulators so I have no idea, but maybe having the four seperate directional keys instead of a directional pad makes quick dodging and landing the gutter punches easier?

At some times it seemed he was using some sort of programmed delay. As in, he would push a button, then the punch would trigger a moment later.

I'd say that he would be using an advantage pad, but the video footage seems to be generated by an emulator to me.

I'm about ready to KO my phone. Is there a good way to take a picture without those horizontal TV scan lines showing up in the picture? I just lost a 2:38 1st Round TKO on Mike Tyson because there was a stupid scan line right across the top of the screen that blocked out the timer.

Try recording a video instead and the cutting the frame out of it.
That will give you some leeway to capture the timer when the scanlines end up covering the timer.

That or take several pictures in a row.

I don't have a video camera, so I'll just have to be quicker with my phone next time. At least I've still got several days to match or beat my time although that was pretty close to my personal best.

I used to have that problem with the scan lines. I would either take the picture a little further away, use flash,or include another bright/light colored object so the camera won't focus solely on the brightness of the TV screen. Or you can just KO your phone. Just make sure you record the KO time on it though.

Vectrex, your 14.61 time on Don Flamenco is impossible without the clock stop glitch, so it should be disqualified. A perfect non-cs time is 14.97. Google it if you don't believe me.

What is that glitch? Perhaps I used it unintentionally... Oh well... I'll try again :/

Yeah, sorry Vectrex, but you'll have to re-submit your scores on an NTSC version of MTPO.

Logo, post your pictures in the thread.  I will compare the pictures of your setup to some of your other submissions this year and make a determination.

I just looked over the pictures I took and I noticed that the flash on the camera makes it so you can't see certain numbers in the time.  One for an example has a time of 1:--:99 and the flash is where the seconds would be. For something like this, if you were willing to accept these Bimmy, to make it fair, I would take the maximum time possible which would be 1:59:99 on that fight. Otherwise I will try to get another session in but I can't guarantee it. Again I shall let you decide. Here are my times:

Total time: 16:58:17

Glass Joe - 0:42:25

Von Kaiser - 2:06:00

Don Flamenco - 1:29:48 (Maximum time possible because of flash)

King Hippo - 1:39:25 (Maximum time possible because of flash)

Piston Honda - 1:59:99 (Maximum time possible because of flash)

Super Macho Man - 9:00:00

Mr. Dream his punches are just as fast as those of mike tyson.
But you have more time to hit Mr Dream then Mike tyson.
So Mr dream is the way to go for inexperienced punch out players.
I think this is only true regarding MTPO PAL VS PO PAL.

In both cases, you have to play NTSC version in this contest, cause they're timing differences between NTSC MTPO-PO and PAL MTPO-PO,

I will probably post some times tomorrow or Sunday if I find myself being in condition to do competitive play. I am burning inside for not taking part, but as I am right now, I am not even being able to knock down Super Bonus Stage Man under 1:40.

I haven't been able to beat him under 2:13 perfectly healthy. Every time I get a good run going, I seem to always botch up somewhere.
