Chill.
Posting a lot of new stuff?  You have 6 games up, and 3 of them were attempting to pass of counterfeits as the real deal.  That's not a mistake, that's a scam.

If that's the best apology you can make, then your name / reputation isn't worth a damn.  Sellers like you are a complete disgrace to this hobby and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Money is the root of all evil and some people aren't strong enough to withstand its temptations.

ok, so your into sealed game collecting but didn't think of marking the boxes as reproductions? Uh, huh.

And your pricing them as if they are actual CIB games with no mention in the title of them being repros...yeah nothing fishy at all about that.

We weren't born yesterday but you are hoping for some buyers that were.

The whole thing is shady, at least he changed the listings to read reproduction box and manual. but that was only after an outcry. definitely a shady seller and with only 12 posts and no feedback not much of a reputation to go on there either. Sounds like someone you would want to steer clear of if you ask me.

But on the bright side he might have some jordan sneakers or coach purses for sale one day to go with his CIB games

He also has a "BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED!!" Earthbound listing.

Earthbound of course never came sealed, and it has a qualified grade from VGA.

Not as bad as selling reproductions as legitimate, but shows a clear pattern of misleading behavior.

thats interesting to know i didnt know that it never came sealed thanks for that..... also (just my input) i feel like this kind of thing is going to be happening more and more especially seeing as how reproduction carts are becoming so popular, its unfortunate but its nice to know theres so many people on this forum looking out for this kind of thing

i understand people wanting repro boxes for their own personal collection (due to expense), but as soon as they get out in the wild garbage like this runs rampant. Really makes a person want to stay away from the expensive rare stuff.

I dont understand people wanting repro boxes at all of existing games. Spending 20-30 bucks for something u know is fake. Just kerp that money and wait for a good deal. There is no point in having a fake box for an existing game that had a box. And the point u bring up about expense?? Its called patience or dont collect cib if u cant afford too.

I was in that same boat when I first started collecting Jeff. I honestly didn't care about real or fake- I just wanted it to look pretty on my shelf instead of staring at a blue-grey cart.

It just sucks because newbie collectors are at high risk to leave the hobby and then their stuff gets sent into the wild where it confuses other future newbie collectors. . . cannibalistic I think, but impossible to prevent.

i think the repro boxes fall more into the category of decoration. 20-30 is definitely way too much but for like $5 to be able to have some as a decoration in your game room? Granted this is all opinion and arguing opinion is like smashing your head against a wall, but if you could have the 10 most rare video game boxes ever sitting on a shelf as a decorative piece i think it would look kind of cool.

Funny. One of the only threads he posted on NA a few weeks ago was about him looking for a mint CIB of Earthbound.

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&...

"Hi - I am looking for a very near mint to mint copy of Earthbound (SNES)
Would like to purchase/trade for it - to build up my collection. As I sold it a long time ago (you know how it goes)"

Sure thing, buddy.

Took down the X2 and the 7, but X3 is still there. Hope those other two didn't sell outside ebay...

Was this real?

Looking at those pics, I think it is.  The cardboard (under the flap) looks correct and the art on the box doesn't look grainy like those fakes listed in the first post.

your point about it never being sealed is spot on of course, but it can actually get a standard grade.

Items that never came sealed get a standard grade if unopened.

So an earthbound that is unopened (but not sealed) would get a normal grade.

An earthbound that was opened, but had new contents, would get a qualified grade.
