It may be missing the box and manual, but this is a great price for a Pro Action Replay. For those that don't know, this item was released in Germany and the UK and acts as both a Game Genie and an import adaptor (for playing games from different regions). It's a lot more rare than a Game Genie as well.

I already have one of these CIB, but I paid to much for it back in the day. I got it when I was a n00b and didn't know any better. Paid 120 for it I think, oh well. It is in great shape at least.

120 is quite a bit, but they don't come cheap either. They normally sell CIB for 30-50 euro on German eBay, sometimes even more on the UK eBay. What color is the background of the paper on your box? Black or white? There's three variants, one vertical box, and two horizontal boxes. The vertical box is the rarest, and the horizontal box with black background (German release) is the most common (but still hard to find CIB).

Is this the same thing that is also refered to as a "Game Action Replay"? or "GAR" for short?

This is not the same thing as a GAR. A GAR allows you to save at any point in any NES game and come back to play it again from that point. This is kinda like a game genie only better, and acts as a converter also.

Speedy, mine is in a white box. The label is horizontal and fades from green at the top to white at the bottom.

Lol, I decided to check pics real quickly, and compared a vertical box/label pic to the one I have, and the label is different! So that means that there are actually four variants...the label on the Pro Action Replay itself is different, too. Anyway, the one that you have is one of the more uncommon ones, although they are all fairly uncommon because I'm pretty sure that they were mail-order only back in the day.
