I'm surprised I never put this in this thread but this was me back in February 1991 with set #6061 King's Mountain Fortress.

Was going through old photos and found an alternate photo from that day....this is still my favorite Lego set ever and I still have it assembled.

I wanted that set SO BAD, as a kid.

I already had the black fortress (the one that was on four flat base-plates, and could fold out and reconfigure into a longer fortress wall) though, along with a TON of other castle LEGO, so my parents couldn't be convinced that I needed this one

1991 might have been the year I got the Imperial Flagship for Pirate LEGO instead.  (which I promptly used my grey castle brings to build a giant zepellin top for, to make it into the Airship from FF)

I picked up a Lego Sports NBA stadium set 3433 this weekend at the flea market for $5. Not sure if all the pieces are there yet but all 10 mini figures were. I'm hoping to start on it this week.

Well finished it tonight and I'm missing 5 pieces. I found three on the Lego website. Can't find the other two but one is because of color isn't offered on Lego website and the other, I just don't know the name. It's a red 1x2 but has a pivot on it that you attach a flag to. Anyone know any other websites I can look at?

10 dollars?

woah , thats freaking awesome. Looks in phenominal shape.

That thing has to be worth atleast a couple benjamins. Do you collect lego sets? I love old space sets. Your set is a little before my time. But I had a lot of Blacktron sets and Mtron stuff when I was a kid.

Yeah thats probably in the high hundreds sealed like that. For $10 you did pretty damn good.

Bricklink has 1 sealed in really good condition for $800 CAD. Not sure if it's worth that, but it's an idea of the value.

Yea I have a few other older boxed sets from other themes like castle and town and a couple oddball things, I have all the Marvel superhero sets, the VW Camper Van and a few of the technic vehicles, I'd venture to guess well over 100 bionicles and a LOT of plain brick. Not so much an active collection outside of Marvel (I wish I could afford it! ) but if I find stuff for a good price I always pick it up

So, this NBA 3433 set is really freaking cool. My 4 year old is obsessed with it. The players actually bend over and pick up the ball and have spring loaded legs to shoot the ball.

Side note, my 5 missing parts- Lego is mailing me for free.

They were impressed I found this set.

So last weekend was pretty interesting with Lego finds

Tonight I finally had time to build one of the sets I got.
It's like 95% complete or like 97
Older set too
This build feels like they gave a kid random Legos and said ' make something outta this '

Now for the other set I was like wtf!
A guy I know that buys Legos picked it up before me, but he's more into minifigs
He looked at the set and wasn't interested in putting it together
I was all up for building it and hoping it was complete
I know one of the baggies was open because it didn't have the minifigs.
Sadly it's not just one bag missing
It's missing two no.2 bags and one number 11

The person did start the build and it's missing like 5 pcs there
The rest of the bags are sealed
( that's why I gave it a shot and the price was a no brainier too )

Paid 15$ each

Bummer about the batmobile , maybe I'll snag a complete one in the future

Most of the late 90's/early 2000's sets, Lego had no clue what the fuck they were doing with their themes. That one is a perfect example, it was just a bunch of crap thrown together hoping it would be popular. If not for Star Wars, they probably would have gone under. Hard to believe considering they're so successful now, but it wasn't always sunny for Lego.

oh yeah I remember a similar one but it was soccer iirc. That was a few years ago though, is this one a newer set? (I could be completely wrong about it being soccer)

Recently got a new open box sandcrawler for a heavy discount (215). Bags were still sealed.

No legos are particularly hard to build but this one is definitely the most intricate. Crazy technic up the ass in this set. Pretty sweet set.

Almost finished with it. Been doing a bag or 2 a day.

Surely you guys haven't stopped buying toys?!

I picked up this set today, missing instructions but in really nice shape for $20 at the local thrift. I only had a LEGO Technics set later in my teens so it hit me pretty hard in the feels to be able to purchase a LEGO Space kit. My other favorite toys were of course Pirates, you were a pretty lucky kid Trj!

My nephew's birthday is tomorrow, might end up passing this set onto him if I can nab the instructions online.

That classic Space stuff is great.

That newly announced UCS Snowspeeder looks awesome too, finally a good Lego Star Wars set.

1997/8 was definitely a weak year for Lego after an amazing stretch for the previous decade, and the beginning of a real downward period for their sets overall in my opinion. I was a magazine subscriber at that time. The Time Cruisers theme was supposed to be that they were warping through all sorts of dimensions, which is why the sets contain pieces from every theme, it is just supposed to be a jumblefuck was the idea I guess.
