Unfortunately I am terrible at this game and have almost no chance of even making top 8.

 

I actually like this game but I think they could have made some tweaks to it to make it even better.

Meh. I would like it more if I was better at it.

Personally, I use 20K as my "good" benchmark (meaning that while I'm playing, once I hit 20K it's time to focus)

So... Anyone try Star Force that is coming up in the contests?

It's a very basic shooter with tough enemies and almost no upgrades to make it easier. Plus there are 24 stages and there are no continues. I've only made it to stage 3. If you are good you can rack up some extra lives by shooting question mark tiles, but that's about it. I see skinny dominating this contest if he has time to play.

I own the cart. Can't stand the game. Shmups are my weakness for sure

  

i dont know about dominate. i have to admit ole glovesie is pretty good. but! i think i have a shot at top three   

star force a tough shooter.

i need to play defender II that might be a sleeper title i can gain some points back on the shoot em up genre :/ 

 

I'm not a big fan of Star Force.

Defender II is fun despite being a little dumbed down from the arcade original (in the original you actually have to return people to the planet surface... not sure why they changed it). My best is little over 50k, but I'm expecting high scores in the hundreds of thousands from the resident arcade experts.

How are you at Defender II?

Star Force seems right up your alley. No bullshit, just a pure test of how good you are at dodging and shooting stuff.

 

i am not good at def 2. i played for a few minutes and got 10k lol. 

star force i do enjoy. great game imo. like you mentioned. no bull shit. lay down some fire. destroy shit AND evasion actualy is usefull. one thing that could have eased the difficulty is a bomb feture even if it was a limited supply. but even with out it i enjoy the game.
