$15 for all. So I was actually driving to a new Value Village, but I passed this little thrift shop in a strip mall on the way, so I went in. Small place but packed with stuff. I grabbed the PS2 game for $2, but they wouldn't do a transaction with a card for under $10, and I had no cash on me. I ran to the dollar store next door to see if they could do cashback, but the line was a mile long. The lady was about to finish her shift and I think close the store, so I was like, damnit, I just want that game for $2.

Well then I see this stack of consoles - a Dreamcast, a Gamecube, and what looks like a cable box. I asked to see the top two. The Gamecube was marked $36 (it came with Tony Hawk at least, lol), but DC had no label. I asked how much it might be and she just said "We can do $6." Cool. So after tax she'll let me ring up with a card now, but I kept looking at the cable box thing and finally asked her to see it right before she rung me up. Well, it's a 3-in-1 Famiclone that does NES, SNES, and Genesis. Also $6, since no tag. No cables, adapter, or controllers, but it takes a generic RCA cable and Genesis controllers. Don't know if either of them work, but I'm pretty pleased with it. First time I've seen anything retro in at least a year, and definitely the first time I've found a Famiclone in the wild.

Nice find! The thrift store around me used to charge five bucks for every game. Got stuff like turtles in time, Metroid, Pokémon red five bucks each. Now I have no idea where they get their prices from but they had yoshi on Nes for 40, super Mario world for 70 and Tetris on gameboy for 30. And those have been sitting there for several months now. It's getting hard to find those kinds of deals now

I've found that 9 times out of 10 the clerks will let me have the empty cases when the discs have been stolen. I've got like 15 really nice case/manual/artworks for free that way. But I know, for $2 at my store people even steal discs. They must have JUST put out the Gamecube stuff or the discs might be gone lol. Honestly I'd prob pay $2 for mint manual and art alone

i get the boxes and manuals for free also, found a ps2 box once, i guess the guy took the console out to get it for like 10$ instead of 35 like they wanted cib. Took a while to convince them i didnt leave the console on the shelf to scam a free box lol. Tons of times for other games as well. sometimes the bitch managers are like 25 cents and i say no, might as well steal them. Leave it at the counter and walk away. Not paying for their loss that they got for free.

Yeah! I'm probably selling half because I own them, but Indy Heat and a few others will probably go to my collection. They're not knockout titles but all of them pretty solid.

My son... gives me Helpful Nintendo Hints that are far too complex for the adult mind to comprehend. Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." And the hell of it is, I know he's right. - Dave Barry

Rule of Rose?

That's actually my fantasy since all I ever find anymore is PS2-type stuff

- The Way of Rose PS2 CIB - $8
- Dark Cloud PS2 CIB - $8
- Mario & Luigi Dream Team DS cart only - $4

So Dark Cloud is $20ish, Mario and Luigi is $30ish, and The Way of Rose is about $200! At a Value Village! Never found anything like that before. And I had been to the same exact location a couple of weeks earlier, and was facepalming at the $40 Super Mario 3 cart only.

The way of rose? It's must be extremely hard to find because I've never heard of it.

It's a bizarre-looking RPG - I had never heard of it either and don't play RPGs, so I'm going to sell it. But as soon as I saw it, I knew it was something special, haha.

Guess their joke went over your head... it is "Rule of Rose", not "Way of Rose".  And yes it is expensive so nice grab!

Joke? I don't get the joke, but I got the name wrong because I am myself unfamiliar with the game. I didn't have it with me when I posted, or I would have thrown in a pic too
