I don't know anything about the Japanese FF books.  I picked them up because it's something you don't find everyday and I was more than willing to pay about $1.75 a piece for them.  The guy I bought them from really took care of his stuff and paid way more than that for them.

If anyone has any info as to the value of these books, don't be afraid to chime in.

Thanks!

They aren't worth a whole lot, maybe $5-$10 each, except for the FF Collection DigiCube book ($10-$15).  Again, though, I'd definitely be interested in them if you were to sell them.

Thanks for the info, I figured the FF Collection would be worth a bit more, especially since I got the game to go with it.

Is there a list of Jap FF Books?  Would be pretty cool to have them all.  I'm sure I'd be able to unload them pretty easily if I wanted to, but I'm still going to hold onto them.  Once I get my shelving all set up in my basement, they'll look right at home

There are *quite* a few that you don't have among that lot.  If I had to guess at how many different that I've seen over the years, there are no fewer than 50 or 60 in total.

Btw, FF Collection really isn't rare, and neither is the book...they're about R2 and R4 or so respectively, and the game goes for around $30 or so due in large part to its popularity.  I bought both of mine that I have now for $20 or less in the past, and I bought a third for around $10 or so (flipped it for $30).

Edit:  It's important to note that the Anniversary Package box set goes for substantially more ($60-$75) and is quite a bit rarer (R6) than the standalone release.  There's also a Memorial Package box set that's obscenely rare (R9, $200).  The individual releases of FF 5 and 6 go for more than FF Collection does (FF 5 once sold for $167 at open auction (yes, btw, that was a fluke:  they're usually $30-$40), and FF 6 has been noted to hit $60+ on several occasions).

Your full of information!  Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it.  I didn't even know anything about the Final Fantasy stuff when I bought it, to me it was worth it so I snagged it up.  Looks like I still got a pretty descent deal out of it.  I didn't have much time to do research before I met up with the guy, so this helps me out a lot!  If I'm ever interested in selling my FF Books, I'll let you know first.

I've been pretty lazy lately and haven't bragged about my rescent finds, so I figured I'd toss out what I found just this week!  It's been a really good week for me   Some of this stuff will be for sale on Ebay in the next few days so if you see something you like, let me know.

Alright, so I started out the week with picking up this Dreamcast lot.  I've been messaging with this guy for the past month and we haven't been able to meet up until now.  I paid $50 for it all.

Next up, I pick this lot up on Monday as well.  It's a N64 lot I picked up off this old lady, I guess her gran kids use to play it or something.  There's also a PS1 Racing Wheel I forgot to include in the picture.  I paid $30 for this + The Racing Wheel.  I don't have Conker's yet, so I was pretty happy, the other 2 are for sale.  FYI, I already got 3 hours racked up on Conker's.  I plan on beating it this weekend.

That Same night (Yes, All 3 of these lots were found on Monday), I visited a pawn shop near my hotel.  It was one of those chain pawn shops, so they knew the value of mostly everything, but I was determained to find some deals.  I dug through their shit for about an hour and here's what I can up with.  All this cost me just under $30 with tax.  Yes, that Gyromite has the Famicom adapter in it and Madden Championship Edition.  Super C and Bomberman 2 are for sale.

Tuesday comes around and did tons of looking, but no luck on anything worth while.  That night though, I spotted this amazing PS1/2 lot that popped up on Craigslist about 10 mins. ago.  I quickly made an offer to the guy and eagerly awaited his response.  He got back to me later on that night and was very very please with my offer, I decided to pick it up the next morning.

So I met up with this guy in a Target parking lot, and he pulled out his huge box of goodies

This is what I found, everything I got for $150 (PS2 System, PS2 Games and PS1 Games).

This guy took very very good care of his gaming stuff.  Everything was practically dead mint.  Made some nice additions to my collection.  No cleaning required!  That never happens to me.

A lot of the PS1 games are actually going to be for sale.  Lunar, Xenogears, Saga Frontier, Musashi, FF VII, FF VIII, Legand of Mana, Breath of Fire III Wild Arms 2, Crash, Legend of Legaia, & FF Anthology are all up for grabs.

So I was talking to the dude about video games for awhile and I told him I was a collector.  He then was like, well now I just have to sell my SNES games.  Holy shit did my ears perk up!  This guy was a hard core RPG guy and I had visions of Earthbound dancing in my head.  I told him I was very interested and we decided to drive over to his place and check everything out (Luckily I took out some extra cash).

So we pull up to his apartment and this is what he pulls out!  I offered him $60 and he was very very happy with it!  To be honest I know I could have gotten this stuff for probably half that amount, but his stuff was in great shape and I didn't want to mess up any of these deals.

This is what I found:  Everything is for sale except Harvest Moon, Road Runner, & World Heroes.

A few of these SNES games will be sold with their Box and Manual as I'm dropping out of CIB collecting and going Cart. Only.  Those copies being Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 as well as a CIB copy of Breath of Fire.

I visited another Pawn shop on Wednesday.  Looked around and never found any vintage games.  I asked the guy behind the counter and he went into the back and came out with these.  How Much?  $2 each.  So I figured, why not, and bought them all.  All of these are for sale as well.

When Driving home I stopped by a Goodwill.  I don't know anything about Gameboy games, but I figured for $2, you can't go wrong.  Anyone know the value of this guy?

Well that's it for this week, I need to do these more often.

When I was scrolling down on the PS2/PS1 find, I was like that's a pretty good assortment of PS2 games, if he got a couple good RPGs for the PS1 that's a great find. Then I see the PS1 games and . Great find man.

Good finds, especially the PS1 and SNES lots. I'm jealous.

Hey, I have an idea, lets write the price on the gameboy box with a black sharpie. Thanks Goodwill.

Thanks everyone, yeah I hate Goodwill for the fact that they think they have to write the price on everything with a sharpie. I've found some really nice dead mint games at Goodwill, but were ruined from the sharpie. Curse you Goodwill!

Alright, I picked up tons of stuff this week, but this is by far my highlight!  I managed to find my first NES game Factory Sealed in the wild.  Granted I found a few SNES Sealed games, but I was pretty excited for this one.

Story starts out with me finding an ad on craigslist with a sealed zelda game written right in the ad.  They wanted $50 obo.  I sent them an email with a $40 just to see if he'd take it.  Well, I never heard back from him and for some reason I completely forgot about it.  I have no idea, but I was thinking it was fake.  Come 3 days later I get an email from him saying he had an offer for $60 on the system, I couldn't remember what deal this was from so I had to cross reference it and I'm like "holy shit I'm retarded!"  I replied back saying I'll give you $70 cash and can pick up today!  I got a phone call from him within 30 seconds of that email wanting to know when and where to meet up.  I have a traveling job and this was about an 1 1/2 hours away so I made sure my schedule was going in that direction.  Later on that day we figured out when we were going to do the deal and then out of the blue he calls up saying he's booked up for the day.  My hopes and dreams were crushed thinking he figured out the value of his shit.  I was persistent and told him I'd be back down there in 2 days, he agreed and said that'd work out.  Today comes and we were going to meet up in the morning, drive down there and he says he can't meet up as he's too busy.  I'm like WTF, is he fucking with me or what.  Well, he seemed like an honest guy on the phone so I wasn't leaving town until I got my fucking game!  We met up later on that day and surprised everything went through according to this plan!  After the 4th attempt to meet up and do the deal, it finally went through.  He told me out front that he screwed himself over with this deal, as he figured out the values of this stuff after he agreed to the $70.  Very nice guy, in the end, he was happy and I was very happy with the deal.  I guess the reason that it's still sealed is he could never beat the first Zelda so he never got around to opening and playing the second one!  Thank god for Zelda taking some effort to beat!

The Lot It Came in:

So what do you guys think?  I'm debating on holding onto it or selling it.  I may hold onto it for awhile as I know I'll never find another in the wild.  Do you think it's worth grading?

I'd say condition wise on the Zelda II you're looking at around a 75 or 75+ so probably not worth grading in my opinion but it's a nice score for the whole lot. I've never seen a sealed NES game in the wild.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I got a few more sick lots this week, but I'm too lazy to post them. I'm too excited about my zelda game.

I'm on the fence about getting this thing graded. I know it looks as minty as a X-Mas Candy Cane, but it does have a few flaws. There are some light scratches on the front plastic, one corner is slightly pushed in which caused a crease on the box, and there's also one little spot where the plastic has been knicked. Those are the only flaws I see while inspecting it and that's me being picky. It still looks like you could have picked this game up off the shelf the day it was release. Though I'm not familiar with sealed games.

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

I got quit a few things this week, but I'm going to skip the same old shit you always see and give you my best goodies of the week.

Got this Tomba 2 at a pawn shop in the $0.50 bin.  That's right, the 50 Fucking Cent Bin!  Some Dumbass wrote on it though, I can get it off the front case easy enough, but they also wrote on the disc.

Next up is my Score of the week.  This ad was posted on Craigslist so I had a shit ton of people to contend with.  Lady wanted $75 for everything and I offered $100.  At first she was ecstatic for my offer, but then someone on Craigslist tried to ruin my deal by telling her how valuable Dragon Force and Guardian Heroes are.  The Deal came very very close to falling through, but in the end she called me up and said it was mine.  I guess she had quite a few people offering $100 for it even at the $75 asking price.  I was the first one to offer more and I was able to sweet talk her with a few phone conversations.  I picked this up in Sioux Falls, SD so Lincoln, if you were trying to get this lot, sorry man.

Every game in this lot is minty mint.  No scratches what so ever!  It's like the games were purchased, and sat in a box all these years untouched.  Oh I forgot to mention, there's also a Memory Cart with the system & all the original baggies are still in the box!
