I definitely want those cib myself. I have 2 and 1 with a jacked up box.

Luckily I found a very minty IV CIB at the pawn shop here fully complete for about half price so that started me off pretty well.

I will have to just bite the bullet and get II+III to match it.
 

I wish I had my DW 1-4 CIB I only have them cart only atm.

If you want a serious test of your patience play the nes version of DW1-4 lol. I did that last year and it was fun but man has the series advanced since then.

Going to tackle DQ5 and 6 this year on the SNES as I only played 5 on ps2 and 6 on the DS.  Wanted to try out the original versions.

I maxed out my entire party in 2 & 4. I coupdn't do it in 3. 3 is extremely grindy,especially if any of your characters change class. It's a great feature,but it takes forever to build them back up.
 

You're really making me want to replay these games, Toxie and gutsman!

I'm wanting to play them myself to be honest. I did replay Dragon Quest last year. Simple yet still amazing.

I hardly just beat Necrosaro once I got to him in IV......I think I had the Hero left alive with only 10 HP when I landed the last hit to kill him.

I could not believe how massive of a game that is for being on the NES....felt like it took 50 hours to beat it.

 

I think I only ever bothered changing one of my characters to a sage to avoid the grind in part 3.

You have to love that cave to Rhone in DW2 lol.  I never run in RPGs but at the end of this game I was running to avoid getting the party killed with those cheap death spells.

Anyone picking up 7 and 8 on the 3DS when they arrive this year?

I am going to get VII because it is a complete do-over and very much deserving of one but VIII not so much since it already is perfection cosmetically.

I mean, don't get me wrong being able to play it on a handheld when you are on the go or lazying around is awesome!

Will probably get a used copy for cheap once they are floating around.

 

I need to get a 3DS so I can play the remakes of 4-8. I've never beaten 6 or 9. I can say 7 is very underrated! Yes the graphics were super dated even when it was released but the game play and story are great.

I managed to find VI on DS really cheap but no luck with IV,V.

 

VI is a pretty tough game even on the DS I was raging playing that game lol.

I used to collect DQ guide books and I had the one for DQ 4 on the DS. The stuff with Saro in that version has me really wanting to play it.
 

I think Necrosaro is now one of my favourite end bosses of all time, the animation sequences when he starts growing limbs actually kind of blew my mind.....DAMN that game is good.
 

I just bought the repro last month and have been wanting to play it as well.

DQ is just so damn good.....

 

I love the music that plays while he's evolving. So sinister.
 

Yup DQ is awesome here is my mini shrine to it that everyone who comes over is like huh because it's not as well known as other series.

Really is the complete package, the series gets a lot of shit for having just a basic hero goes and kills bad guy plot line but it sooooooo refreshing after everyone trying to do this overly seriously crap.

Nice man I actually kind of want to have something like that in my collection with DQ/FF/MM/Castlevania , I like stuff like this over going for complete sets by a long shot...would rather have a nice little collection for a series I love rather than a bunch of games I will never play or appreciate.

 

Completely agree I like to collect subsets of collections rather than the entire set.

Having the Famicom completes is a nice touch as well, they are pretty cheap to pick up so you might as well.

The artwork alone is worth it IMO.
