$13,300 within a couple hours of posting. It was ~$15k on Shop Goodwill until they realized it's worth cash money and moved it to Ebay. It also used to have some Xbox 360 stickers on it that were removed before moving to Ebay. No controller, not sure if it came with the orange controller though. Crazy.

It was never released. One was found in 2015 at a garage sale in Washington. This looks like a different one because it's missing the Xbox jewel and doesn't have the matching controller, so unless I'm wrong this is only the second console known to exist?

There's an Assembler Games thread on it. The orange Xbox shells were engineering samples and 3 full consoles were made from them, one was given to an MS Employee's friend which was the first one found.

TBH, $15k still seems insane for a sample shell to test the color, but I'm just some Nintendo fan. If this was like semi-transparent gray I bet it would be worth less. This thing is large and in charge, and happens to say Halo!

I'd say that Seattle's Goodwill has had hands down some of the best items over the years donated to them.  It has been pretty incredible to see what surfaces there over the years....

Yep, I've followed that Goodwill seller for many years and they always get the best stuff somehow.

Bill Gates has (or Microsoft has) the big metal X Xbox prototype. Nothing is or will ever be cooler in the Xbox universe than that thing, so why bother owning anything else.

I've always heard of Goodwills taking their good electronic and gaming stuff, and shipping it off to be auctioned online. This is a super cool item, hope it's not a knockoff chinese case lol.

Its crazy prices and its a first for me to see something like this esp. coming from goodwill ( ending one auction and yet starting another to get the most coin for it )

I haven't looked into this too much, but Goodwill has received quite a bit of bad publicity and has even been called a scam
https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/u...
Again, I don't know that much about it, but it is a non-profit, exempt from taxes, pays its workers little, but the CEO made over $800,000 last year. In fact, quite a few higher-ups made nice six figure salaries. Well, to pay them that much you definitely need to sell some rare video games....

Did goodwill end the auction early? Any updates if this actually sold?
