Continues are usually allowed when there are limited continues and your score carries over. It's better than having to quickly get a picture at the continue screen.
I expect those who are good at this game to get well over a million with these rules. I know there are levels where you can burn lives to point press (not 1up leeching).
Just habit to play with one life/ one credit rules I suppose.
That glacier stage has stumped me so far.
Also noticed the stages might not run in the same order every game? I could be wrong. And do they run opposite direction sometimes?
I don't think that the icebergs are that bad. Take your time and you can finesse your way through. You're toast if you try to tank it. I have beaten the stage without using force, but it really helps. Activate when the icebergs start to get too fast near the end.
The third mine disposal stage might be the worst that I've encountered so far. That stage is just mean.
I hate the waterfalls. I try to time it so that I can jump them all in a straight line but that doesn't always work and I'll waste some lives. And I hate the whirlpools. I'll stupidly waste lives to those as well.
