Awesome score! Don't think I'll be touching that one.

With the islands, guys, if you want the 5000 points you gotta touch down on the grassy parts. Best way to do it is to land on the larger ones with the bit of road on 'em, get yourself set up so that you are just a tad right of the white dotted line on the road before making the jumps, that way no adjustments have to be made except for speeding up or down so you don't miss. I don't even attempt landing on the bridges in stage 2, way too hard to pull off, only time I get any of those is accidental.

Just a quick hint. Not sure if anyone knew this but if you don't bump into a car through the whole scene you are rewarded an extra 50,000 points. I've only been able to do this for the first scene and all I really did was jump around like a mad man until I got it.

Now that you mention this, you know, a long time ago I think I pulled that one off once (during one of my crazy challenges to myself), I know I tried it, but can't recall for sure if I actually did it though, but somehow never remembered until now, thanks for jogging my memory. Will have to try this out again, won't have much time by the time I get home from work, but I can at least put in an hour or two of effort towards this before the contest ends.

I did that 50,000 pnt. trick on the first level. Not an easy task.

Definitely not all that easy but it's a huge payoff. 50,000 is like playing through 4 levels.

I managed to get through the 1st stage without destroying any cars, got the 50,000 points, but failed in stage 3 which should not have happened. Don't feel like trying anymore, plus kinda busy right now with some purchases and bids (all this selling and buying stuff is taking much of my time lately, especially this week, that in itself is much like playing a game, very exciting).

Here we go...

Stage 1:

Jumping on 5000 points platform = 30.000
No crash car- 50.000
Repair Station = 30.000
(Optional) Perfect landing at the end for 5000

Nobody talked about the repair station, so I'll explain it.
When you're about to ran out of Gas in a stage, a white\blue thing appear on the route. It is likely to appear when you have 8 gas left. It is tricky to catch cause you don't have much time to react when it appears, and you drive at 150 km\h minimum to get it.
When you get it, there's a LONG animation that simulates a car checkup. I wondered what was the point of this, until I realized that every time you push the 'A' button, it gave you 1 more Gas. So, you could boost in gas by mashing the A button fast. I was able to get between 270-310, plus there's an extra 50 at the end of the repair sequence.
Consequently, you get a lot of extra points at the end of the stage.

Average point after stage 1 = 110.000

Stage 2

Jumping right on the bridge wall = 25.000
Repair Station = 30.000
Crashing cars here and there + bonus at the end= 10.000
(Optional) Perfect landing at the end for 5000

My trick to land right on the bridge was to figure a visual spot on the side graphics as a cue to jump. Always at 240 km\h.
Ex: When the first '!' appears, jump when you're at the second blue building you pass by.
(Graphic are very consistent in this game, so when you have a specific side graphic, the cue spot will always be the same throughout the stage).

Average score after stage 2: 175.000

Stage 3:

I guess not may players figured out where was the 5000 spot in this stage. Remember the houses at the right of the stage. When you pass on them and jump very near the limit of the house land, you get 5000 points. It was not possible to get them all, since when two house land were contiguous, it was impossible to jump and land for the other house. Long story short, I memorized a pattern where I could get most of them (12 max). It was difficult to get every possible 5000 points for each house cause the jump timing was hard to master. I managed to get 8-9 of them in my run. Then, I tried to get to the repair station bonus, but for obscure reason, it has not appeared on the route, and I freaked out and crashed my car.

This = my 220.xxx score.

Otherwise, I was aiming to finish the 3rd level with something between 250.000 - 270.000 points

VoilĂ !

^Cool man. I hit the repair station a couple times while playing, but didn't realize you could repeatedly hit A to get more fuel (DAMMIT!) In stage 4, you could get 5000 point bonuses if you landed really close to the barriers on the road with a space between them. Or, you might have had to land in the space between the barriers. I'm not sure how I did it, but I got the bonus once on accident when I landed really close to the barriers.

I suspected that it was the 5000 spot in stage 4, cause I got the 5000 at the end that way once.

But this was so sketchy to pull that I did not tried it in the stage.

Haizara repaired. Thought that was funny when I saw it recently upon getting the repair station, now that I know what that word is, long ago as a kid I would have never known. Crazy Nintendo and their censorship, some games get censored, such as this one with just the word ashtray, others don't such as Golgo 13 where Duke Togo smokes to regain some health.
