Aha, two games I know about!
Wordtris: I agree that any clear limit would be arbitrary. This is what I said about the SNES version in 2015:

What standard are we using for Wordtris? I was able to make the goal word (which clears the screen) on Level J, Advanced difficulty. Otherwise I believe it loops forever on Level J.
EDIT: OK, it does indeed loop. I cleared and looped Level J multiple consecutive times on Novice difficulty, then went to Advanced and managed to clear/loop it once on Level J. So between that and getting the goal word on Advanced, Wordtris is done, I think.
If Level J can be cleared and looped in the Game Boy version, I'd say we have a choice between looping Level J, getting the bonus word, or both. If it just continues non-stop, I'd say getting the bonus word would be the key.
Lingo: that was my experience too -- just a flat ending after the No Lingo round. Here's my post from 2015:

So I played a game of Lingo and beat the computer in the main round. I chose to go to the No Lingo bonus round, solved a puzzle, but got hit with 5 in a row (which is bad in the bonus round), and got a GAME OVER.
Then I played another game, beat the CPU, and didn't go to the No Lingo round...and got an immediate GAME OVER.
Unless there's some score-based benchmark that has to be reached, I guess I beat it?
EDIT: I played some some more, won a couple rounds of No Lingo, and made it to the middle of the high score table. If necessary I could try to reach the top, though it's heavily luck-dependent.
For research purposes, maybe one of us could savestate our way through the bonus round, making every choice perfectly, and see if there's anything extra. I kind of hope there isn't, though.
