Way Forward announced Shantae 5 will be coming out, later this year on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC... AND the newly announced Apple Arcade!

What would you like to see added or taken away in this title? Have you played the other 4? If so, thoughts on the series?
 

It needs some freshness. I'm gonna say a tower defense roguelike soulslike procedural farming sim platformimg hell board game

If it's as good as half genie hero then I'm in.

I've really enjoyed every game in the series so far. Really wish it was on 3ds though

I wonder if this is the one that was rumored some time ago as a remake of the original GBC or something new all together? Regardless I am down for it.

[edit] 8/14 new game, ...still, I think the OG game should get a remake for those of us that can't justify/afford the price

I beat the original and got like half way through the DS one, haven't played the others yet. Based on my experiences I think the main thing is they just need to have more of the game that shows the characters being who they are, developing their character, stories, etc. I remember thinking that Shantae and Risky and all had a lot more potential than the bare bones stories of Mario, Bowser, Link, Ganon, etc.

So when are we getting Shantae in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

I played the 3DS one and thought it was neato, right up until you get an ability that let you run really fast or something, provided you had enough running-start space. So then the game turned into finding spaces that would let you do this new move, clearing the enemies and obstacles out etc. For some reason that was not fun at all, and although it wasn't a conscious decision, I never fired it up after unlocking that ability. But I've never been super huge on backtracky metroidvania style games.

Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero was fabulous. Looking forward to the next one, so long as Jake Kaufman does the score.
