That's what I'm thinking, too. It shouldn't be that hard to do with the right strategy.

Same here. I wouldn't be surprised if the top 5 scores all end up being all over a million.

Maybe when I get to the point where I can beat the third boss every time.

The first two bosses are a cakewalk and then the third boss is a huge pain in the butt.

Ok, I've accepted I can't 100% the 3rd boss. The only way to do it faster is to get up on the engines and I ain't blowing runs because of that

You ain't kidding.  If you didn't have it before, you will after a gauntlet of runs with this game.  Ugh.

I'm just playing casually, but I must be missing something on level 3 as I have not cleared it. If I don't die on the barrage of medium sized planes and traffic before the boss,I die at the boss.

I haven't looked at any faqs or youtube playthroughs as to play the game as naturally as I can. I've done this all season thus far and don't plan on changing.

The barrage is what kills me on that level. I just had to experiment until I came up with a pattern that does a pretty good job of containing them

Level 3 is tough. Grab every weapon upgrade. Try to keep it upgraded throughout the entire stage. It makes it so much easier. And on the boss, keep using lightning and shooting the engines on the wings.

I've been experimenting with how I use my points. I hate how your special weapons have a timer so it really makes me not want to upgrade something I have to constantly try to keep or regain if I lost it.

At first I felt the same as you about the weapon upgrade, but now I always try to get them. Having the upgraded weapon for a limited time is better than not having it at all. It definitely makes it way easier to handle the swarms of enemies in stage 3.

I had been using most of my points on offense, defense and the special weapon timer. Adding defense points seemed to work better for me than increasing my energy.

I played a couple of games and experimented by throwing most of my points into the defense. It helps and halves your damage pretty much from what I can tell, but it still seems more wise to invest it on the offense. I have put most of it into the special weapons timer which is nice, but when your special weapons aren't powered up,it's not that huge of an advantage.

The special weapon power ups don't seem to be very useful except for the laser, which is the last one you get.

For those that have made it past Level 3's boss, I keep getting stuck with zero energy when I get to Level 8's boss. And the time required for that boss run seems longer than the others and I run out of special weapons by about halfway through the boss. Any recommendations?

That's a great question as I wondered the exact same thing.  Haven't it found it yet myself anyways ...

I made it to stage 8 and couldn't survive to the boss and I was really powered up. That stage is hard.

Everything past level 4 is a bit hazy for me. I know I died at the end of 10, but I don't know what was in 8

You have a shooter genre icon that says otherwise. I think I finished 5th in the shooter genre standings last year, so my story checks out.
