I'll definitely call him and tell him you guys want to see the board, if he doesn't have the tool, he can drive his ass over here and we'll open it together. First he has to turn his phone on.

This certainly smells of bullshit. We'd need to see the board to know for sure of course.

Terrible pictures, a 5-screw never before seen edition, and a cute little story to go with it. Not quite sure what you are saying could be wrong with this Matt.

Sarcasm of course

The "cute little story" is straight from the seller. I know him because he buys up the flea market I visit.
It's not bullshit, unfortunately.

Pics of the board would do more for me than the story.

It also seems like you have a serious vested interest in the auction.

You mean a flathead screwdriver?  I'm sure he can find one.

Shouldn't this be in Auction Spotlight since the finder isn't interested in keeping it?

I just got a message saying "Oh this one is not fake....I got this from a very reliable source. I'm not good with taking it apart and would rather not attempt...as I may damage it

- vampwolfgirl"

I wouldn't touch it personally.

If you don't want to believe it, that's okay with me.
And I'm so impressed that you can analyze people through text on a forum, quite an ability indeed.
"Serious vested interest" lmao, you have a serious vested interest in causing arguements.

As soon as he answers me, I'll tell him you guys want pictures of the board, until then, relax with the conspiracies. Deal.

It's pretty simple with something like SE, you error to the side of caution until you see the board.

I know so far that the seller is dishonest since it came from "a very reliable source", so there's that. Board pictures (and other non-grainy pictures) would definitely be in their best interest.

What makes you so sure everything is on the straight and narrow here?  There's more reasons to believe it's bullshit at this point than there are reasons to believe it's legitimate.

It still could be legitimate I suppose, but it's not looking good.

I am not sold on OP being in on the fake.

We all have that acquantance that is an asshole, but we take their phone calls and talk to them somtimes.

So OP's contact (not friend) texted him the CL listing and the car picture.  If OP is not familiar with SE then it all looks ok.  I didn't know about 3 or 5 screw unitl I researched it tonight.

So OP posted the find, as it is a rarity for NES, not knowing it may be a fake, and people asked if the contact was selling, so he posted the auction.

It does not look good, but I am hesitant to lump the OP in with the seller, unless we get some more proof.

Ok good points Michael. Fair Enough

Would make good sense for the seller wanting to "piss off" another collector locally by showing off a fake find. I could see that happening. There are alot of game collectors that like to do douche moves like that.

The seller's username is vampwolfgirl and the OP's avatar is a vampire, they're both vampires in this story, they must work together somehow lol.

Sweet dude! that will shut us all up if its real. Oh and make sure he doesnt grab just any PCB board for another NES game that he has laying around. SE has certain production dates on it, that we will know, to make sure its real. :-)
