World 8 I hate you. There is never enough fruit.

This thing goes to World 8?!

Yes, World 8 is that last world. I never had enough fruit I always got to haul ass to the end.

If you got that far, I bet you're going to crush it this week. I can't wait to see the awesome score you put up!

Not going to be able to get another run in tonight like I wanted, damn it. But this is on my to do list. I think it would be best to take a break when playing and not sit there and not move for over an hour. Just a thought.

I think taking first place this week is a nice consolation.

Thought I'd be out of time if I kept trying the final boss, so I submitted my score... Just a few lives to go. I think I can beat it.

He deserves it as he obviously put a lot of time into it. A whole lot more than I did. Not going to lie,I haven't played this since I submitted my current score.

No arguments from me. Way to win Bert.

Today was the first time I played, not that I could have touched that even with a weeks worth of time.

Hey, thanks guys. I had a blast with this one. I played the original Adventure Island a lot, but never got into the second or the third. I enjoyed this one so much this week, I bought the two for the gameboy, and watched Super Adventure Island go for $81 on eBay...it was CIB, but I haven't gone back to see what a loose cart goes for.

Anywho, After submitting my score, the wife and kid wanted sundae's, so to the store I went. I'll get back to it before bedtime...

Missed out on getting Bucky again this last week for $76. I will get it for less than $80.

I got one for $70, had stickers all over it, none of witch couldn't be removed or damaged anything, got lucky with a clean label. Thought I paid to much at the time but apparently that's what they go for :/

I had to pick up dusty diamond too 😬

I had messaged bimmy about it last week, but never got a response. Hopefully one of the regulars will take over my place. Good luck and I will try to get some scores in when I can.

Best of luck. I know the work you've been doing is appreciated.

Yeah, I remember when you said you got it for $70.  I think somebody's buying them all off eBay...  I got a deal pending with an NA member for a bunch of games including Bucky, so I'll have it here in a week.

I totally got caught up in playing New Horizons and didn't get around to this one.
Oh well. If it's ever done again, maybe I'll own it by then.

I have a PowerPak...I just like having the original cart as well.

Yeah, I understand that too, but I'm saying this as a very general advice to everyone. We are reticent to choose expensive games for contest just because we know less people might own the cart, but if most would own such flash cart device, we could pick about anything without worrying about it. This said, there aren't that much costly games that are good for a contest...

I agree with Bert

This is my issue for the price of a power pack (correct me if I'm wrong $150-$200) I got : Bucky O Hare, Dusty Diamond and Adventure Island 3.

Unless we're gonna play Little Sampson or The Flinstones priced games I would rather spend the cost of the powerpak on original carts.

I haven't filed my tax return from 2012 yet, I think I'll do that and get myself a well deserved powerpak lol.

The Powerpak won't fulfill the collector in us, but it is a fantastic investment for playing games on the real hardware, if only temporary. For $135, you can play almost every NES games on the original hardware, and it also include famicom games, Euro exclusives and the sea of hacks and translated games. And if you feel like you don't need it anymore one day, you can always resell it and recoup a big chunk of the cost.

Powerpak = Win-win situation

Good point. There is no reason why I shouldn't get a powerpak

Yeah! I beat the game. Good thing I took the picture of my score when I did; after you beat the final boss, you never see it again. photo IMAG0932_zps8zpkxl9j.jpg

I think the only real difference is PowerPaks use CF cards, and Everdrives use SD cards.  I have the NES and SNES PowerPaks, and the N64, Genesis, and TG-16 Everdrives.  All work about the same.  I only use them to play games.  Any other features like Game Genie or whatever else, I've never tried.
