Big reason why I dig it is it forces me to play through my collection in less of a linear fashion.  I've been going through all my games alphabetically.

Once you figure out how to score goals, you figure that you can score every few seconds...and then the puck gets stolen.

Its so frustrating when the puck gets stolen becuase it wastes a TON of time!!! I got annoyned and just let them score after a while becuase it seemed quicker than trying to recover it sometimes.

Once you know how to score you can score at will. (almost).
But scoring is not the most important thing.
The most important thing is mastering the face-off. If you win the face-off and use the right combination of players you can score in seconds.
Your goal is to keep the puck in your possession .

Win the face-off,pass/skate,score, again and again.
Focus on the first 7 minutes if the score is not insane high don't bother playing the other 14 minutes but reset and try again and again.
If your in the second or third period and the puck gets stolen it might save time to let the computer score.

BTW speed 1 Bimmy? Really?    turtle power lol

That's what happened to me the last few tries. I'll knock in 7-8 straight goals in no time and then one of the computer players will get the puck and just skate around running a minute or two off the clock just passing it back and forth before they even attempt a shot. Hopefully I can at least break 40 with enough practice this week.

Happened to me two games already!  Very annoying.  The first score I submitted, the majority of those goals were sunk the last 1:30 of the entire game, one after the other with little effort.  Some of it is a little luck of the draw or how the computer is playing.

Was gonna play, then I saw the rules. No, just...no.

And here I thought 12-2 was decent. I know one thing that probably keeps my score down is I hate letting the computer score so instead of just letting them do so and saving time,I defend my goal like Martin Broduer,except that the goalie will give up a ton of rebounds.....

Man, I don't know ,getting past the 20s is TOUGH.  It seems to be largely luck in how the computer plays.  I'm still stuck at 20, here it be.
