We have never done a high score/progress contest. Anything related to progression has always been low score. However, I'm going to look at the possibility of doing a straight up progression contest with no score and see how feasible that could be so we can get some different games into the contests that don't rely on score to determine a winner.

You do havea point, but Ontario is next to it, so I could go there, drop by Michigan quickly and go back to enjoy my time in Canada!

I don't think so, but a formula like 'progress/highest score as tie breaker' is possible, in fact, if Joust was showing the wave you're in permanently on the screen I would have taken these rules.

That sounds like it could be a fun idea since it would reward completing the game over point pressing. I think that would be an interesting set of rules for a Ninja Gaiden contest considering the difficulty of the game and that the point pressing in that game is fairly tedious.
