Did anyone else see this auction? Are these actual protos and what do you think the worth is? I forgot about it while I was at work... I probably would've bid more...

EDITED (link taken out) Just want to make sure the buyer doesn't get screwed...

Yeah I'm not very happy that I forgot about it... But you win some you loose some... I had actually made an offer higher then it ended at... But they didn't want to sell it and let the auction run it's course....

I can bet that now people are going to try to swindle the seller out of the original deal and offer more $$$ to buy the items and that the buyer of the auction will get ripped off.

Wow, that's awesome! Those are quite uncommon games on their own; I wonder how much people would be willing to pay for the protos!

Large is a too big word to use Nistle. It's compact but worthy.

I had watched this auction for a long time a bid WELL over what I won them for. I hate to talk about items before they are in hand so I wasn't going to mention this, but the item is paid for and the seller seems to be very honest so I'm going to sit and wait and hope for the best. As Bryan said, I'll let you know what the deal is when I get them!

Damn thats a great deal o_O Wish i saw it myself, but the seller didnt send outside US tho. Many sellers still send outside US if you ask tho, but it would sux if i saw it and the seller would refuse to send to Europe :\

EDIT: I see a guy from Canada that was bidding, maybe they would have shipped to Europe too. Ah well, it doesnt matter now, the auction is over hehe.

EDIT 2: The Bubble Bobble 2 proto looks just like mine so im positive these are legit I havnt found any difference in my BB2 proto (altho i think there was some difference in the code when i compared the ROM), so please let me know if there is anything different in your BB2 proto. And Panic Resturant too of course

What a fantastic find! You have to love it when you stumble across something this poorly listed. I'm surprised it didn't pick up at least a little more attention, as it did at least list BB2 in the description. Hell, you can't hardly buy a normal BB2 cart alone for that price anymore!

You know what the funny thing is? Bubble Bobble 2 didn't even kick my saved searches, it was the Panic Restaurant that did it. I just got a great boxed copy of it from NOFRIENDO and forget to get rid of the search. I'm shocked myself that it didn't gain more attention.

I was the bidder from Canada.  I got the end time of this auction wrong.  I really wanted them.  Oh well.  Nice score.

MrMark: I would buy the BB2 proto if you were interested in selling it, or trading for anything...

I tried searching for completed items on Ebay but can't find the auction you are talking about. After you receive the games, could you please post the link or sth? I am really interested in looking at the auction only. Many thanks!

I will absolutely post the link once the games are in hand, after receiving another message from the seller this morning I am confident that it won't be long. Jason, after I've gone through the games and see how far along they are and if there are any major differences from the released versions I'll let you guys know what I plan on doing with them. Right now my proto collection is pretty small (by that I mean I only have one, Mega Man 2), so I still haven't decided what to do with these guys.

Well, thanks to this thread, I officially got fucked. Here is a message I got from the seller:

Hi, Mark~

I wanted to discuss a dilemma I am dealing with, and I am hopeful that you understand. I contacted E-bay to figure out how to deal with it, and they suggested I discuss it with you (the buyer.)

I would like to relist this item as three separate items. They are worth quite a bit more than your offer...and I didn't realize this until after the auction ended.

I would, of course, refund your money in full immediately, and there is certainly a chance you will still end up with them.

I am curious to hear what your thoughts are on this...

So I responded with:

I'm sorry, but due to the nature of auctions you have to deal with what the outcome is. You had every right to put a reserve price on the auction or add a buy it now for a higher price but you chose not to. I won the auction fair and square and would like the items that I won. My maximum bid was higher than what I won the items for, but no one bid against me. I myself have sold items that have gone for much less than I would have liked but thats just the way things happen. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I would like the items I won. I appreciate the email, let me know if there is anything else that can be done on my end.

-Mark

In which he responded:

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. I'm really sorry about the outcome of this situation, however it was too material.
I have issued a full refund via paypal.

I am very, very disappointed that I lost a score like this because this thread was posted after the auction had been completed but before I received my items. Is there anything I can do? Is he legally responsible to sell me the items? If you could help it would be greatly appreciated.

I was just about to post here as the seller has offered them to me for $300 each.  I am so sorry to hear that this deal has gone sour.  He has indicated he will be relisting them for sale and I for one will not be bidding.  Ebay sales are supposed to be a binding contract.  I am not sure if there is anything legally that can be done but I really feel for you.

I say Boycot the new auctions.  Not that it will have much effect but I will be.
