It is kind of a fusion of genres I think. It's like Solomon's Key and Metroid had a baby!
p.s. some day a Pico-8 demake of this game will exist. Whether or not this was because we abducted Roth and forced him to do it himself, or whether me or KHAN Games did it with or without permission, remains to be seen.
