Unlikely.  We had an entire week to make submissions.  There was no need to procrastinate on an initial submission if it was a concern.

Well, the contest ended at 11:00 PM EST time, and there's usually no exception to this. It is better to keep it fair for everyone and apply the rule as it was stated one week ago.

DING DING DING DING!!! That's right guys, it's time for a random prize giveaway. With it being week one of the 2014 contests and a great turnout, it's a great time to give away a game. Details coming up.

The game up for grabs for the first random prize giveaway of 2014 is going to be StarTropics on the NES.  The game is in fantastic condition with no writing on the cart and no rips in the front, end, or back labels.  The game has been cleaned and tested on my Toaster and the game worked on the first try!  The save battery even still works, too!  The winner won't be disappointed in this game.  For those who are new to the weekly contest random giveaways, here's how it works.  I have assigned everyone a random number between 1 and 42.  I will use a random number generator to determine the winner.  Once a winner has been declared, I will message the winner for their mailing address.  Don't worry about the cost of shipping because it is on me!  Random prize winners can only win one random prize in 2014 so everyone can have a chance at winning a game.  If you won a random prize in 2013, you are eligible to win a random prize in 2014.  Here's a picture of the game:
