This music is unholy. I dunno if I'll ever be able to get it out of my head at this rate.

You don't know just how buggy this game is until you watch this 7 minute speed run.

According to someone in the comments, this was the first NES game for many Brazilians because it was bundled with a popular NES clone. Maybe that's why Bea is so fond of it.

It didn't came bundled with my Phantom System. I got Ghostbusters with it instead.
But it was among the carts my parents bought for us along side the system! So we had Ghostsbusters, Crime Busters (a light gun game), Gauntlets, Super Mario Bros and Pitfall!
Many quality hours were spent with this wonderful game! It was the best of the lot.

Did you beat it as a kid? It's one of those games that's so cryptic that it practically requires a guide.

Yes, it was the very first NES game I have ever beaten. No idea how I did it, but I kept exploring, writing things down till I made it.
Out of that list, I only beat it and Crime Busters as a kid.
I never managed to get to the end of the stairs on Ghostbusters and wasn't too into Mario back then to see the end of it.
And of course beating Gauntlets without even knowing a single English word was too much of a tall task for a 9 years old girl.

The Sega Master System was more popular than the NES in Brazil, right? Because the first NES experience for so many Brazilians was either Ghostbusters or Super Pitfall, I an see why.

I liked this game when I first played it in 2010 after watching the nerd's video, and I like it now.   Though I'm playing with a keyboard and I have a feeling it almosts makes the controls seem smoother

EDIT:  Small score update.  (old score ~150000)

Children, do you know how to tell a good game from a bad game?

In a good game, when you die, it's your fault.

In a bad game, you randomly let go of a ladder and land on a snake.

Pitfall Harry clearly got tired and couldn't hold on the ladder any further. Realism!

The game still manages to be somewhat fun and addictive despite its flaws, or maybe because of them. Despite my frustration I keep wanting to try again to get a better score.

I’m pretty sure skinny just takes photos with kids, passing them off as his own on the internet. I mean, cmon’. The guy lives in a shed in Florida that has a Bud Light light on the wall that isn’t even a cool old school neon. Just sayin’!

Is it cheating to read a FAQ for this game? I mean even if you know where to go and where the hidden stuff is, you would still need the skills to pull off a great run. But at the same time it seems kind of against the spirit of the game.

(Disclaimer: I haven't read a FAQ (yet))
