Sorry 'bout that.  I so hyped after just loosing to the cyclops that I just jumped back into the fray after dying with guns blazing errr... whips cracking, rather.  Fortunately, I paused as soon as I swung the whip, realizing my error.

I've never been cracker jack at the Castlevania's but I'll give this round the ol' community college try, I reckon.

Went on the Easy path, getting Grant and passing on Syfa. I may try the hardest path and see if that can net me more points. Made a few easy blunders on the ship level lol. Fun one this week. ^>^

I didn't Get Grant and took the other path. You will get to a level with frogs. Keep hitting the frogs for 200 points each.Collect all the hearts you can get.Walk further in this level untill you see groups of mud monsters and keep throwing the boomerang/cross for a lot of points!In a later level you will encounter teleporting mummies here you can collect a shitload of points with the cross/water.

Just wanted to say that I am quite happy with the Round 2 game selection. I was hoping for Castlevania, Bubble Bobble, Duck Tales, or Gyruss. Hehehehehehehe

At least Tier 2 doesn't have to do this on one life. I almost broke a controller and a TV this morning after dying 5 times in a row as a result of falling/getting knocked off a ledge.

Due to numerous possible point glitches a high score contest could bring about with Castlevania 3, I am changing this to a low score contest. Please re-read the first post to see the new rules. To sum them up briefly, it will be a low score/furthest progression contest. When you have to choose a path, always choose the lower one. Again, all specifics for the new rules are in the first post. I greatly apologize to anyone who has already submitted a score under the old rules, but I feel a low score/furthest progression contest will be the most fair option in the end.

Soooooooooo happy I was practicing both!! I like this the best as well.

ok...sounds great

since i am not the best at this game either way, its all good with me regarding the rule change

i am hoping to beat the game this week too (i am sure i wont do it in 1 life, but just wanna beat it for my own personal goal)

The secret to maxing out is level 5. In level 5 there is a platform where you have 2 groups of mummies teleporting over and over. At the beginning of level 5 you get water and hearts. Stand in the centre of the platform and throw the water at the left group . This group keeps walking in the water and points go up insane fast.When the left group walks in the water you have to beat the right group with your whip .The right group gives you some hearts now and then . This way you can get around 60K .

This is not an 1 up loop! Because you lose lives. You get a 1up every 120.000 i believe? 220.000/ 320.000 etc.
So your 2 on 1 here. BUT if you come here with enough lives and a high score you max out before you reach 0 lives.
This way you follow Bimmy his rules and max out.
