Got an email from them for an additional $5 on trade in at the weekend but assumed it was only for current gen.

Nope any game they take in trade worth $2 or more.

Just traded 6 games which would get me less than $20 (wii ds and xbox 360) and got $52.

Fill your boots!

Im going to be chopping more in later, still want to buy a Switch and this is going to be a cheap way to get one!

well shit, I left a bunch of XB one and 360 games on the shelf at a thrift store this morning. Couldn't justify them at $2.50 each and I've proven yet again how cheap and stupid I am, lol. Would really love a Switch + SMM2 if I can get it cheap. hmm.

Thanks for the heads-up.

This sounds like a great deal. Anyone have a link to where I can find out if what I have would be a $2 trade in? I have some serious garbage titles.

Go to gamestop website,

at the top to the right, click on the trade in tab to open the trade in valuation page.

Its anything worth more than $2, the guy at the counter didnt know about it either.  Funny enough it was on a poster on the door as I walked in.  It normally is only current gen but this one is ANY!

Well I kept asking her and reading off the website and she kept saying no and whispering to the other worker. I'll call and speak to the manager or just bring shit in. Says no dealers so gotta be careful with volume I assume.

The PS3 games are generally coming out to .25, but some of the NES trade in prices come out to market, I can't find PS2 in their system.

Just make sure you only have one of each title.   You can bring in 500 different games and be fine, but if you bring in 3 of the same one you may be trade banned for life.

This is good to know. I have a stack of nes duplicates for 5-15 dollar games I had been debating about what to do with. I'm going to check out their price chart tonight. Thanks to all who provided info. I do have a feeling my gamestop is going to claim no retro games and I dont know how much will I will have to fight with them over a 50 dollar credit

I'm thinking about going to GameStop and trading in a duplicate Super C for Megaman 11. So weird.

What are some examples of good stuff to bring in? Im finding mostly trade values of $1 or less on most stuff I can think of off the top of my head.

They tanked a lot of stuff; I found the same on just about everything I looked up.

Metal Gear, Krustys Fun House. Check your N64 stuff, it says tetrisphere and perfect dark are about $10 each with the bonus. I've got a disc only pikmin 2, trade in says $20, will they give me full credit wihout a case?

It seems like they should since they sell them that way.

The 2 ds games I traded did not have cases, they were ok with it.

I just left Gamestop with $55 store credit and Mega Man 11 for games I never look at.

The guy at the store said this deal is made for cheaper games. He said last week the deal was you get 50% more on the trade in. So my loose pickmin was 30 trade in last week.

It's an extra $5 for any game with a base trade in value of $2 (except Saturn for some reason). I've traded in DC, PS1, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Xbox 1 games, and they all got the bonus. Don't bother asking the associate what will and will not work, just let the POS do the magic. That being said, keep an eye on the card reader as they ring in each game and make sure you're getting the right amount. You don't need to be a Pro member, but if you trade in more than $150 worth of stuff, the extra 10% would pay for $15 membership.

I've traded in $250 in the past 2 days, but I do this a lot. If your current or last gen games have scratches, you may get hit with a refurb fee but it's only $.50 for a $2 game and you still get the bonus $5. "Vintage" games with scratches aren't charged refurb so as long as the game looks like it will play, you will get the full amount. You can't trade more than one copy of each game per transaction, so any multiples will have to be split up over multiple transactions and only 4 copies of any one game over a 30 day period.

Check trade in value here:
https://www.gamestop.com/trade/#!...

Other info, scan the last 3-4 pages of the Cheapassgamer thread:
