Hey fellow retro game nerds,

Ok, so I just beat Ducktales 2 on the NES and the feeling of completing one of these great NES games is so great!

Now here's the deal, I'm an average retro collector / gamer, I play RPGs on my original NES and SNES, and occasionally want to play an action, platform, or adventure game,

My question is: What are some NES games that a casual gamer can pop in, and in 3 or 4 tries get to the final boss??

Here are a few games that I would put in this category to give you an idea:

Rescue Rangers 1,

Kirby's Adventure,

Ducktales 1 & 2,

Bonks Adventure,

Metroid (kinda),

Contra (with code),

What are some other ones that you guys would add to this fairly easy "Beat-able" great NES games list??

Thanks

Zwario

Tiny Toons is pretty fun and easy imo.

Bucky O Hare is more difficult, but it is incredibly awesome and underrated and there are unlimited continues. It is beatable with a bit of elbow grease. As far as I'm concerned, it's a must.

Ninja Turtles 2 and 3, though both are more fun with a second player. A few more:

Panic Restaurant
Jackie Chan (This game is AWESOME)
The Marios, of course
Mega Man 2

First thing I thought of. Capcom too. I'm 28 years old and am not afraid to admit I play that game every few months.

The Little Mermaid IS the mostly manly game for the NES.

That game has put some much hair on my chest I look like a freaking werewolf.

I'd think any cartoon series/franchise based game would be perfect for a kid outside of Bucky OHare or TMNT1. The cartoon games were made for kids or those just wanting to take it easy.

Super Dodgeball is a no brainer as even on hard it's more of just being able to throw enough long enough while just not screwing up catching. It drags it out farther, but it's not much harder than the other modes if you're consistent and can be finished in under 30min.

If you like shooting, a great hybrid action / shooter is The Guardian Legend. Awesome music too! Though not impossible, it may be tough to get to the end in one sitting.

Also, super dodgeball is easily beatable in an hour with a friend, the final match is a surprise! tee hee

You put Metroid on your list!?! No way in hell anyone beats that game in 3 or 4 tries.

Play Power Blade. It isn't very hard but is fun. I was surprised how easy it was. I died once through the entire game. It is definately a must play though.

Yeah, I know I kinda cheated on that one, but I love that game so much due to the fact that its not aggravating like Mega Man or Battletoads, it's just fun exploring more and more, an getting more and more powerful, (kinda RPGish huh?)

Great Suggestions guys, I'm definitely gonna try Little Mermaid and Felix next!

Any good beat em ups that are beatable? (I did beat Double Dragon 2 once in Warrior mode... But I think it glitched, because after stage 6 because every time I landed in spikes it didn't take a life??)

So funny you put Captain Skyhawk, one of my favorites. I used to beat the pants off this game as a kid and the last time I popped it in about a year ago I sucked big time. The game felt faster than I remembered and seemed like the screen was so small I couldnt keep up with what was going on. Getting old *sigh* .

I always thought Bubble Bobble was fairly easy but I guess its just because I have been playing the game since I was around 6 years old lol

Kid Klown seemed really easy, but I never beat it due to boredom.

Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout and Cliffhanger are both pretty easy games.
Also, I´d recommend the Fisher-Price games for a good laugh, especially with the retarded computer

Also, if you don´t mind Non-NES releases, then I´d recommend Super Widget and King of the Monsters 2 on the SNES. I beat these one in one day
