Thank you everyone for the kind words. They meant a lot and I really appreciate it. I want to give out a huge thank you to Santa and Brock for taking the time to organize the Hall of Fame and for all the work you have put into it so far. This is a pretty big job and I know you guys have put a lot of time and hard work into it. Keep up the awesome work. I also want to thank all the players for taking time out of their week every week to play in the contests. Guillavoie and myself may put a lot of time into organizing them, but if you guys weren't here playing in them, they wouldn't exist. Here's to many more successful years of the contests!
Also, Greg, that was an awesome interview. You are definitely one of the most passionate gamers I have ever met and it's nice to see someone enjoy the hobby and strive to better themselves at the games every day. Your skills have improved every year since you first entered the contests and they just keep getting better and better. Keep up the good work
Well said! It's amazing to see how much the contests have grown in just the last few years and the impressive skills that are on display each week. I can say that I'm truly honored to have been a part of them over the years!
While I would have loved to have been a part of the contests back when you, rdrunner, missclawful, etc. were active participates, I am impressed with how the contests have only increased in popularity and participation with every year. Usually things like this become much less active over time as folks lose interest, but that is definitely not the case here.
I think a big part of that is how the contests have evolved. Kevin can correct me if I'm wrong, but before he took them over I'm not even sure a picture of your score was required. But look at the contests now.... it has its' own Hall of Fame. Mind blowing.
And everyone I've ever had the honor of competing against, you guys and gals are all Hall of Famers in my book. You all help make these so much fun. Thank you my friends!!
The one thing about the contests that has never changed is the requirement of a picture of your score with your NA username somewhere in the shot. That was something nesruler22 adopted back when he started the contests. I've modified the picture requirements a bit over the years, mainly with playing on an emulator on a computer. At one time, we allowed pictures that were simply a "print screen" with your NA username posted in like MS Paint, but I had to do away with that when we started getting shady score submissions. Also, partial screenshots of a TV screen were allowed at one point, but again, due to a few shady scores, we had to change it to the whole screen.
