My local target have finally restocked New 3ds Xls and I'm thinking of grabbing one. I mainly wanted to upgrade to a new 3ds for pikmin. Firstly I wonder if I will need a new 3ds for pikmin (I'm guessing I will)

And now I'm wondering when pikmin will come out if at all. There are plenty of games to justify getting the new 3ds I just wonder if pikmin will utilize the system.

In my opinion you should get one regardless of when (or even whether or not) Pikmin comes out for it, unless all you play is Pikmin. The 3DS has a huge library of awesome titles, I don't think you'll ever hear anybody say the 3DS sucked because the games weren't there. They've really milked every drop out of the super-limited tech in that little machine. If you don't already have an "old-style" 3DS it's a no-brainer in my opinion. There are too many good games to miss out on.

I don't think Pikmin on 3DS will be "New 3DS" exclusive if that's what you're asking. If you have a 3DS already you should be fine to play Pikmin. I do think the "New" 3DS is worth it though, for several reasons - better 3D, c-stick nub (albeit it gets very little use from me but still nice to have), better wifi connetion and online speed, and overall just looks nicer. I got the galaxy style new 3ds and it is gorgeous. Easly the most attactive handheld I've owned.

But like Quaze said, there are a ton of great games on 3DS and if you don't have a 3DS at all there is way more to entertain you than just the upcoming Pikmin game.

thanks for the input! I have a 2ds and have played through like 3 games or so but I have about 4 games I haven't touched yet (shovel knight, FE awakening, Loz link between worlds etc.)

There are at least 4 or so games I know I want and could go out and get right now so I guess it is worth getting!

I'm looking forward to Pikmin for sure. With the library available for the 3ds right now, it's a no brainier to pick up a N3ds and enjoy what the best of the system has to offer. It's a huge step up from the 2ds by all means.
