Hello all,
I've actually been around the hobby for quite some time, but I've never joined any forums or anything like that. I learned about this incredible site from a member here, a guy I learned (through ebay) that I work with. What a small, strange world.
Anyway, I wanted to stop in and introduce myself. Like I said, I'm not much for forums, but after checking this site out, I couldn't
not join.
I've been collecting for years now. My dad was huge into video games throughout the 80s, and I'm now very thankful for that. Other kids never understood why he had all this stuff he never touched - and neither did I - but now I do.
He's since given me most of his collection now that I'm out of college and have seriously started collecting. What he
won't hand over are his systems that have never been opened
He likes them too much. He actually has them on display in his basement as I write this.
So the deal is this. With what I've collected and what my dad finally turned over to me
I have a pretty good amount of stuff. But it just got way too much to manage. So, I decided to stick with NES carts - of which I have about 670 right now - and systems and accessories. I just don't have space or time to maintain collections for all the different stuff out there. By cutting down, I can try to grab some of the seriously expensive carts and stuff out there.
I recognize a bunch of names here from my recent dealings on ebay - which still saddens me even though I've come to terms with selling my stuff. My seller name there is mcetak8. I've just started piecing my collection out and have recently sold a bunch of systems, games, and NES related memorabilia.
As for the gaming part, I LOVE Nintendo games more than any other. My absolute favorites are the Dragon Warriors. Right now, I'm in the middle of Dragon Quest VI.
But, before I keep rambling, I wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I see this is a place where I'll find myself spending too much time
