It seems like it. I played a game against the Russian team with the speed set at 5 and they seemed to catch on to the strategy that I've been using rather quickly. Maybe it just seems like the computer adapts since the goalie can borderline teleport to block shots on that setting.

It's all about faking the goalie.
In a perfect game, I could have a really REALLY nice score! Sucks that the other team sometimes steals my puck when trying to fake the goalie Anyway this is just a proof that Czechs rule at hockey

You mean standing in the center making a fake shot and scoring.

Not exactly. Use the skinny for the face off (you have to master this by mashing the A button), pass it to a fatty, then skate to the goal . Then tap the B button 3 or 4 times while holding a direction(it will make you do little moves) then smash it into the goal (That's why it's best done with a McDonald's afocionado, although I've managed to do it with a skinny)! It's probably so that the goalie AI thinks you're lined up for the first shot you made (That's why I tap the B button), and as he's kind of a slowpoke in Speed 1, you can easily fake him.
The only problem with this strategy is that sometimes the Canadian fatty knocks you down, but usually it works (at least for me)

I got the same exact strategy

Same thing I've been doing!  I'll try more tonight, been busy grading papers.  I prefer two skinnies, two fatties, one skinny to move the puck quickly if the comp gets a hold of it and starts wasting time.

Haven't had any time to play this since my last score,but I'll give this a try tonight using the strategy everyone's talking about and see what I can do.

if the comp gets it, it might be faster to let them score and start over from the center ice face off. that's where my 2 goals against came in. it was faster to let them score and reset the situation

That's basically the same strategy that I've been using except I use one medium guy to help chase the puck down in case it gets blocked or stolen. I've been busy the last two days and haven't had much time to play, but I'll have to try the one skinny guy and three fat guys combination next time and see if I can do any better.

yea the only problem is sometimes the canadian fat guy will knock down your fat guy with that puck and take it. other than that, it's pretty straight forward. 

That's why I like using the one skinny guy, one medium guy, two fat guys combination. Usually if the Canadian fat guy steals the puck I can chase him down with the medium guy and get it right back, pass it to one of my fat guys and shoot it for an easy goal.

Did pretty well this time, but tried two more times and couldn't match it.
