Awesome work, Howard! $17,000+!!! Wow.

I was gonna post a guess of $14,500, but I got home from work with only 4m left. I didn;'t want to miss the fireworks. Cool auction Howard. Congrats.

Last bidder appears to be fake, but the two before aren't. So minimum of $16, 025. Record there. Leading to question, is this close to the new going price or is it just because it's Howard's cart? Because if it is just because of the additional few items included; some on this Site (including myself) have cooler items than even what Howard included.

Congrats on the sale Howard, put the cash to good use

I'm sure the price was influenced by the merchandise and persona of the seller. $17 is certainly impressive but I wonder how much of that is actually the value of the NWC itself.

I'm sure it being Howard's played a role, buy isn't the end all, at least to me it wasn't. The Press Kit, is worth a nice chunk of change also, given it's history and one of a kind-ness.

Legit(!) and apparently a "big dog" in the videogame collector space based on some quick web-searching...

Bummed for the folks who bid high and lost out.

Crazy that the last two bids ended in 267.00 and 367.00 respectively.

can you all see the bidding history or is that now hiddwn by eBay?

We can see all bidding. Real bid? Wow, color me surprised! It says he has "0" feedback, if he really had "0" feedback than it might go to show we should trust that other auction (outside of that whole stealing thing) because zero feedback as long as they actually have the item/pay for the item (respectively) who cares?!

Congrats on sale again

The press kit is cool as is the badge, but we determined carts go for around 8 grand, badge $200 (auctioned here)... so is the press kit a 8-9, 000 item? I don't think so, so again it is either because it is Howards cart or we have new going rates for carts.

Absolutely not the new going rates for NWC carts.  It's because of the provenance, end of story

Congrats Howard IMO you did very well...in respect to the $267 and $367 bids the second bid was likely above $XX367 but because of the amount the auction was at eBay automatically made the second bidder increase the high bid by $100.

Automatic bid increase because so close? - Whoa!

Bummer to be so close and lose out by a few bucks. That said, the losers warchest is still full and ready for the next interesting offer ; )

Re: "the next interesting offer"; possible prototype(?) confirmed non-retail Super Mario World PAL cart anyone? (Pre-release non-retail SNES PAL ser# PP-G-0057 included ; )

Thx everyone for your kind words and support!

It was fun watching this auction blow up at the very end, I thought for a second it would go for around 10K. Boy was I wrong.  Congrats to the winner and to Howard!

Congrats Howard thanks for answering my emails today, wish I had been able to get it but the snipers took over with 3 seconds left :/. I picked a max bid of 10,400 cause I thought it was a good offer and also because its what I score most often on a perfect NWC run through Super Mario

I was watching it too and I couldn't believe how much it jumped up there at the end. Congratulations to the new owner!
