My original toaster, and recently an SNES I picked up on eBay.

I can't understand why somebody wouldn't buy the genuine article. They're about the same price as the shitty knock-offs, and guess what, they'll work with ALL the games!

There's a pretty recent thread here asking this same question, but I'll answer anyway...

NES games: Clipped front-loading Toaster via AV hook ups
Famicom games: AV Famicom

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

^^^^ Same for me. I need to move it back in the living room though. It's hooked up to a small screen right now, and it's just not as good without having it fed into my stereo : (

Top Loader these days. I used to use a clone system, not completely compatible but I never had to fuss with it. They're real cheap and the newer ones (Yobo, etc.) work great, they're not all bad

I have a toaster hooked up to like every TV in the house. Needless to say, my games are absolutely everywhere. So I won't say it.

Same toaster I got when I was a kid. Even though I have a top loader. Maybe I'll hook that up in the other room....

Maybe they buy them because they are brand new and you can get them in different colors.  Doesnt the retro duo work with almost all the games the only ones it doesnt play are way rare anyways.

All of those NOAC clones have the same problems with the same games. Quite a few of them aren't all that rare (Castlevania 3 is the biggest example, but I've had problems with Final Fantasy, as well)
And in my experience, saving your game with a battery backup is a risky bet given how those systems operate their reset switch.

Personally, I'd rather have a reliable piece of hardware that's been doing it's job successfully for 20 years, than some cheap POS made by pirates.

I still got my original toaster from when I was a kid as well as my original games. I am very attached to them. Every time I pop in a game like Zelda II, I just think how many hours I put into this very cartridge. I have other NES systems, but they are just part of the collection.
