Heh, that'll be me when we do Contra III or Empire Strikes Back.  Or Street Fighter.  Or Mario Kart.  Man I suck at most of this lineup.

I don't know how strict Bimmy runs things, but I'll be updating the scores and pointing us towards Super Smash TV at exactly 12am tonight (I hope, we'll have guests so I may have to excuse myself at some point from them).  Please, please, do not try to post your score after the deadline.  Not even by 1 second, it won't be accepted as it would be unfair to other players.

The lineup is a mixed bag for me. I know I will challenge for the top spot on a few games, but others like Contra 3 I'll probably get my ass kicked unless I practice a ton. And prior to last weekend,I had never played Mario Kart.

Certainly less than ideal, with a few really soft deaths. Curse you level 5, how could I die!? I was hoping to get through to the second loop, but did not quite have the gumption or the time to start over. Oh well, I really enjoyed getting into this game, and I can't wait to fire up Super Smash TV.

I played once a couple weeks ago but wasn't able to record my score. I just didn't find the time to try again. Next month for sure. Smash tv only takes a few minutes to get a game over score.

Super Smash TV going forward

19,204,460

Broke my own rule and forgot to put my name, but since my scores don't count I'm giving myself a pass

edit:
26,000,000+ but no high score screen if you beat the game.  Glad I could discover that before someone else

Never played Super Smash TV now here is a good reason to! I'm gonna give it a shot, hopefully I don't suck terribly, though I probably will. :-P

Same here! I'm a big fan of games that have ridiculously bloated scoring though. Makes me feel awesome.

Well, wasn't able to take a proper swing at Castlevania but Super Smash TV has long been a favorite of mine, so I'll dust it off and see what I can do!

Its fun, but hard.  That was like my 50th lifetime attempt, and the first time I've ever made it to the 3rd boss

I will definitely submit a score tonight. I know it's not a huge deal, but I like the fact that I'm a charter member for the snes contests.

Okay, I just beat the game, and it does NOT give you the high score table if you do ><

Gotta love SNES games doing stuff like this.  So I will be amending the rules.  If you beat the game GET YOUR HIGH SCORE FROM THE SCREEN THAT IS TALLYING UP YOUR BONUSES, OR EARLIER

That game is a ton of fun. Can you play one player with two SNES controllers, just like the NES version?

Not sure, seems like that would make it much harder

I can't really tell about the SNES version, but it is definitely the way to go for the NES version. It imitates the way you play it on arcade, you hold one controller in each hand and use only the d-pads, one for direction and the other for shooting (like two joysticks).

Also, I really like the simulated arcade bootup on this game. Pretty cool reminder that you're playing an arcade port. To be honest, I thought my copy was trashed at first when I saw the simulated static/cross-bars.

I haven't popped my game in to check but I believe a two-controller setup is NOT an option for the SNES version.

On the SNES the four face buttons work fine for shooting in all eight directions even though they are not quite as comfortable as a D-pad would be.  That doesn't carry over to the NES so that is why there is that alternate option there, which I agree is by far the better control method for Smash TV on NES.

Took my first stabs at getting back into the game yesterday. Got to Scarface before his second form suckered away my remaining lives. Not bad for a warm-up, I think. I'll be curious to see how my score evolves as I get back into swing. Haven't played this one in a while.

Second attempt went a bit better today. Got a few rooms into Stage 3 before I bit it. This is one of those games that really wears on your left thumb as you juke and weave all over the screen constantly.

Yep. He's all the wrong kinds of cheap. He homes in on you. You can't outrun him. He takes up about a quarter of the screen. The mortar weapon is almost useless against him unless you get lucky and pin him in a corner. He's what we call a "quarter sucker".

Yeah,he's super cheap. It seems like you can shoot to keep his momentum from starting, but once he gets it going you are dead unless you can get the bombs or grenades which give you the shield.

One of the best ways to trap in the corner is to get the orb and use the plain machine gun on him. As long as there isn't the slightest hiccup in hits, he can be pinned for quite awhile. You can also juke him into not pinning you in corner, but I can't get it to work 100% reliably
