I tried making a couple EarthBound Uncut carts today. Earlier I made a Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. All 3 carts were built using double mask ROM boards with the second ROM left alone and a 32Mbit TSOP in ROM socket 1. Two wires connected TSOP pin 2 and 33 to MAD-1 pin 4 and 13 were added to each cart.
Fire Emblem works fine, but both the EB Uncut carts have problems. They boot up, but have errors or crash.
The first cart was working fine for quite some time, right into the opening of the game where Ness answers the door, then it crashed. Upon further tests, it crashes before reaching the title screen.
The second cart always has a corrupted title screen and messed up character name letters/numbers. Otherwise it seems to be okay.
Are these bad EEPROMs? Bad burns? Or something on my end? All 3 chips were bought from buyicnow (same as everyone else). Both the Fire Emblem and EB Uncut ROMs were tested working in BSNES.
Also of relevence possibly, the same day I made a 16Mbit game, it works too, but doesn't use the two wire mod thing for double rom boards.
I can take pictures tomorrow if needed.
