Hello all,
I have a particular gameboy cartridge that I cannot really find too much info on and have no idea what this is. The only thing I have to go on is that the label over the eeprom cover labels it "2440 ROM PACK (7981-5002-70) No. 202". It doesn't really do much in its current state, it has a menu that leads to other submenus which eventually leads to an error that just labels itself as "I/O error" meaning that it is supposed to interface with another device in some way. I do not have a harness or anything for that it could connect to. That being said, do any of you know what it is, and what it can be used for? I apologize for the awful photography in advance.

From the menu options my guess is it's designed to interface with the gameboy camera.

While it is difficult to get exact info, it would seem that these were used to test actual cameras. There's a handful of them out there. Not much you can do with it, unfortunately.

There was a fellow online, I believe from overseas, that sold a relatively large amount of these not too long ago.

Assuming it is a test ROM for a GameBoy Camera, you can probably make a pass-through adapter much like the prototype eReader so that the ROM can run as if it is a GameBoy Camera and still access the hardware. Backup devices and some games do this trick all the time (Professor/Game Doctor SF7, Super Wildcard DX2, and Super UFO for CIC, DSP, and FX; Doctor V64 for SRAM, FlashRAM, and EEPROM saves; GameGenie, Action Replay, and Super Noah's 3D Ark for CIC lock-out; etc).

I believe I saw Steven (steven78 on NA) sell some in auctions on eBay a good amount of months back. He would be the best person to ask.
