Stuff Everyone Knew About Breath of the Wild But I Didn't

So outside of the original two Zelda games and Link's Awakening I haven't really played any Zelda games. Been addicted to Breath of the Wild lately and there's stuff in there that I'm sure all you fans knew but I had no damn clue about. Now, I knew what an Octorock and a Moblin was but after reading the manuals and looking at various Zelda Wikis I just found out that this guy...

is this guy

Or this guy

is the same species as these guys

Is there any more stuff like that in Breath of the Wild that I missed? I'm specifically talking about the original Legend of Zelda game being referenced in Breath of the Wild.

There's certainly continuity in the series. Yes, Lynels and Zora/Zolas have been in most if not all of the games, as have the Moblins and Octoroks you mentioned and many others too. Some were not there in the first few games, but came later and continued through subsequent games, like Gorons and Poes. I don't see this as references to just the first game per se, but rather development of the series. If you want to know what other enemies appear in both the first game and BOTW, I would add: keese (bats) bots (blobs), stalfos (skeletons), and wizzrobes (wizards).

It just seems crazy to me the evolution of some of these enemies. I know there are videos like evolution of so and so character over the years but I'm sure there isn't one for like Lynels or Hinox. Someone needs to get on that.

Yep, I was looking through my game play counselor binders and hit Zelda. The early guide had descriptions of all the characters with their names. I'm sitting there looking at death mountain and it clicked. I couldn't believe it, pretty awesome they made it all this way.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

I liked how when you go behind the waterfall on the plateau you can find a sword.
