So sexy....as someone who was team Xbox on Christmas 2001,
I was certainly one of the ones who bailed on these controllers for S-controllers ASAP.
Still, this thing is just too cool to deny its existance is great.
It features modern secondary bumpers in addition to the original black & white buttons on the front.
$69.99 from Hyperkin this April, I believe it is Gamestop exclusive.

I actually didn't mind the beast controller back then. Rocking it on Tony Hawk 3

I saw this in a FB group a couple weeks ago, and i am not trying to be a debbie downer on this one.

But I do not get its appeal at all. It was a terrible controller at release, they had to make a new controller because it was so bad.

Who is going to be spending $70 on a WIRED controller modeled after a design that was hated even when it was released way back when? Is this just geared towards collectors?

I do not understand what Hyperkin is thinking with their creations. Same with the Gameboy they are releasing.

ME!

I’ve owned a game store for some time including the time when the original Xbox was released. So yes I can tell you that it is a fact that some people did not and still do not like the original DUKE controller. However, I can also tell you that some people loved it and I am one of them. This is a case where most people who owned an Xbox were on one far extreme or the other but make no mistake this control does have its die hard fan and I expect it will do well.

The fact that it's Hyperkin worries me but I am interested.

The duke gets a lot of hate but I am a pretty big guy and the duke is still one of the most comfortable controllers I've ever used. I could play Halo or Tony Hawk for hours with it.

$70 and made by Hyperkin, a company that has never made a high quality controller. I could not be less interested.

Ok...does anyone know what the function of the LED screen is?

Because...
- $70 - more than a WIRELESS Xbox One controller - and they are friggin nice as-is
- Hyperkin - iffy products
- WIRED - wtf!

I guess I'm not seeing much incentive as a consumer...

Yeah, me too. It's much a novelty than anthing else. Much of nostagia and form over function.

Same. Despite being big and heavy I can use the duke as comfortably as a Nes controller.

Does anyone know why there are no websites reporting on the GameStop customs delay in regards to this controller? I preordered mine and my arrival date has changed to 5/15 (pretty sure this date is a placeholder). After digging around on Twitter, it appears that GameStop orders were held at customs while Microsoft was able to get theirs shipped in. As a result, the MS shop was swamped and they are sold out on there (yay scalpers!) and those who ordered through GameStop are stuck waiting a "yet-to-be-determined" amount of time.

I must say though, it's almost movie-like that a repro collector gives his green horns a try at soldering a repro cartridge.

Didn't know Microsoft was getting these as well.
I would have gone there.
