The Taco Bell's near me are all joined with a KFC, so I usually get a split order. I don't frequent there often, but the last time I went (about 3 weeks ago now), I snagged up the chicken little box (2 chicken sliders, tater wedges, and a drink) and a soft shell chix taco. If I'm getting just TB, I usually snag a chix taco or 2, and whatever the equivalent of a grilled stuffed chicken burrito is these days.

Not a damn thing, not even on special occasion.

I'd rather eat the garbage can.

It's never made me feel like shit when I eat it either.

Soooo I'm a full-on grownup. I could list out my qualifications for being a respectable adult. But I giggle like I'm 6 when I read about people's "hot poops" and other TacoBell-related gastro troubles.

There's a Taco Bell right across the street from my office. If I go there for lunch, I'll get a couple tacos and maybe a triple layer nacho, because I still have to go back to work. Not a work day? then I go for the Mexican Pizza and Frito Burritos, with some Baja Blast on the side. Maybe a chalupa or something new I haven't tried yet. Then I go destroy the toilet and whistle as I walk away.

I do love me some Taco Bell, although I only splurge a few times a year these days. There isn't much (if anything) that I don't like on their menu, but my go-to is usually the XXL Grilled Stuft Chicken Burrito and a 7-layer burrito. Honorable mention goes to the crunchwrap supreme and chalupa supreme.

Side note: It sucks that they removed the meximelt and chili-cheese burrito from the menu.

Hot damn what a bump.

Crunchwrap supreme (Like $3... my splurge purchase)
1-3 Beefy Fritos or 5-Layer Burritos
No drink, go home and have water. What am I rich?

Everything is just a re-arranging of the same handful of ingredients, so you just pick whatever arrangement you're in the mood for that day!

I imagine a kitchen full of Taco Bell culinary execs discussing every few months "what new thing can we add to the menu that doesn't require supplying any new ingredients?"

Huh. That’s neat. We don’t have any LJS’s here. Any good?

Didn't realize that Long John Silver's was part of Yum Brands, but it looks like they are.

For what it's worth, even at stand-alone LJS, the fish tacos are surprisingly good.

LJS, at least where I've had it (VA and GA), is head-and-shoulders better than any other quick serve fried-seafood options.

Their hush puppies are tough to beat, too.

They used to be, but now they're their own company under private holdings. I don't know how they're handling the split stores.

I've never seen a combined LJS, so it never would have occured to me that they were ever under Yum, at all.

But I wonder if their separation went hand in hand with some of the rebranding and new product lines.
