These are fakes. They are clearly listed as fakes, but I still don't like this listing. Other people in my previous thread seem to disagree because he clearly states they are custom boxes. He claims they are a little thinner and smaller than the originals, but they look exactly the same size to me. However, the cardboard is too white, so I still don't think they look like convincing fakes, and I imagine they don't feel right if you hold them in person as well. They could still potentially fool an unsuspecting buyer. So do you think it is okay to list items as fake as long as they are clearly disclosed as such?

They don't look total convincing but they also aren't clearly marked as being "repros" or fakes either.  Who's to say someone won't grab a DJ jr math box or whatever and try and pass it off as part of a CIB with real game?  I'm sure it looks real enough from the outside and would probably fool a lot of people.  These fake boxes should absolutely be considered in this thread.

This is a great thread! With all the 1:1 reproductions popping up this will help the untrained eye to look twice before bidding on them. And good that it's been minimized to one thread.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with custom boxes so collectors/gamers have a place to stash their loose carts, but if that's the case buy one of the many plastic cases on eBay. Being that these are made out of cardboard with what looks to be unchanged original art is over the line in my book. There's really no reason to purchase these unless you want it to appear like the real thing. The seller states they're smaller, it's hard to tell by how much.

It seems people don't seem to care with this one as much, but its no different than making fake carts in my book.

Wow, some sketchy / questionable listings on these past few posts. I feel so bad for the new collectors these days, seems like many sellers will do anything for a quick buck. Such a shame.

They are just as bad if not worse than fake carts.  No real collector would want something like this, as far as I'm concerned the only point of these would be to scam someone.  Seriously, is someone really going to buy a Flintstones or Stadium Events and pair it up with that fake box to put in their collection?  Putting more and more fakes or "repros" into the market is ruining this hobby.

As long as prices for many games continue to increase by insane amounts,or even if they just hold their current value, this will just get worse. I would love for prices in the hobby to tank so I could afford a lot of it,but very doubtful that will ever happen. But if a lot of stuff in the hobby was still very affordable, then fakes wouldn't be as rampant as they are. I mean, you don't see very many fake bases loaded carts. Lol.

Not sure if this is the right place to add it but this is a dodgy seller. He is a shill bidder.

Look at this auction though: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221165...

If that is the original figurine that came with it I'll eat my computer. That looks like an old army man.

The high amount of fake pokemon games on eBay are just getting ridiculous. I may be wrong but there is way to many lots of the 5 RPG GBA pokemon set to handle, the labels on all of them aren't holographic and seem to be eitherfrom HK or Aus. It's hard to believe one seller has a constant supply of sets of 5? Also someone who's good with boxes able to give me a hand, I'm looking at a boxes lot. Everything looks good and boxes are usually my thing but I'd like a second opinion before I pull the trigger. Already messaged the seller about saving on shipping and he seems nice but they usually are untill item arrives less than legit

Do these look suspicious to anyone else? Also this guy just recently ended an auction for all 5 GBA pokemon RPG's and only has 3 feedback. I've only ever seen the original version have the adapter logo on the front of lg and fr or players choice across the top

Caveat emptor. All are fake and/or reseals in my humble opinion (Mario Bros, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber)

^ Yeah, the story may be sketchy-sounding IMO, but the games look okay, unless there's something I'm missing?

Potential magic marker touchups on the box, and the shrinkwrap overall is very suspect on several areas on all boxes. On the latter topic, I would prefer not to say exactly what I think I see... I just wanted to give my opinion about how I felt about them You never really know for sure until you hold it in your hand, and even then you may not know. It's possible that I'm wrong, but it's enough where I don't want to touch them.

They look in very good condition and that guy needs to work on his grammar. I noticed that on the picture of them lying next to each other on their sides 2 of the lids look to be raised up. Is that usual for sealed games because I can't see it on the 3rd one.

Saw this yesterday and think they are reseals. The part where the H Seam meets the Side seam looks like absolute crap. Almost as if they tried to fake the overlap. The side seams run too far down the box on at least Ice Climber. I can't see any roller marks. I see no vent holes. The pics are dated from last month yet two people were fighting over them last week at a yard sale? Of course close up pics would tell the story clearer.

Just zoom in on the pics and it's enough for me to bow out and I need all 3 games...

It's almost as if he's got his friends sending in the questions to raise even more interest. You wouldn't sell 3 reseals for a few thousand less than asking price? Hmmm...
