Would it be possible to make this hack out of Yoshi's Island? Is it possible to put this hacked ROM into an Snes cart?

I have been a fan of various hacks from good games on the Snes/SFC, one that I like much was SMW: Return to Dinosour Land. I had been searching for a hack as good as this one but based on the 2nd part of SMW, Yoshi's Island. Looks like Golden Yoshi has put in the time to create a new experience with new levels. The hack is free to downloa at ROMhacking website. My question here is: Would it be possible to have it into an actual Snes game cartridge as other hacks/repros?

I would assume so. Flashback seems to offer New SMW 2 Yoshi's Island - http://www.shopflashbackgames.com...

...so I don't see why other hacks couldn't go the same route.

The other hack by Golden Yoshi seems to have more features, I wonder if SavePointVG could make any of these two...

Test out the hacks on BSNES before doing repros, I saw a video before that someone reproed a YI hack and all the text boxes were just black boxes, no text.

Yes, but they require more expensive donors then the standard repro games, (especially if you want them to save). That's also the reason why the Flashback guy was posting he wanted FX-game donors for their plastic shells since only FX games can fit in those specific donors.

You would have to use either Doom, Yoshi's Island, or Winter Gold as a donor for them, they are the only 3 game that use the GSU2 Super FX chip and support ROMs larger than 8mbit. For Doom you would need to add a battery and another IC to keep game saves, not sure about Winter Gold, that one never came out in the US so I don't know if it has a battery or not.

I asked him recently and he said he could look into it but currently does not make them. I needed them sooner so I went with Flashback and they seem great so far! They had to make custom labels for 2+ and 2+2 because I was the first to request all three, but they are planning to eventually carry all three with new labels to go with!

I used the "NA" promo code and they came out to be $57.58 each. Otherwise they're $65 a piece I think. Basically I emailed Ryan the boss man and asked if he could do all three. He told me to just buy three copies of the New SM2 Yoshi's Island hack they have on there and write special instructions to have the other two hacks put on the other two carts.

Smw2+ isn't fully compatible with the real hardware. Seems that the message boxes doesn't show the text, as we can see in this video:

Someone knows if there is a patch to correct this issue?

With the copy I bought from Flashback the first intro level didn't have the text in the text box, but I think all the other ones worked for me, I can go back and check if it's super important but I remember telling Flashback and they were aware of the issue and had to rebuild my copy a couple times to get things right.

Hi, using Snes9x and Bsnes the message boxes are empty in this first level, but it works using Zsnes, so seems to be the classic VBlank problem.
In other levels we can see the texts, but I don't know if the problem appears in other levels. Did you beat this game in the real hardware? Are there another problems? Did You say that Flashback fixed this text problem for you? Because this is a problem in the game code, and it's not related to the reproduction.

Do you have Smw2+2 too? If so, the game works fine? Smw2+2 seems to works fine using Bsnes and Snes9x.

And New Super Mario World 2?

I want to do a reproduction of these games myself, but I cannot find precise information if these games works fine in the real hardware. If you have some information please let me know.

Thanks.....

I have not beaten it yet as I am still working through New SMW 2 to be complete and haven't noticed issues there. I have no idea on the technical stuff with the code. You could always email the guys at Flashback to see what they did because I won't be much help in that area.
