That must be nice. I must the the only person in this town (of 5000) that cares. We did have a restaurant showing it tonight but I'm staying at the house. It's the first time that have done it since Silva broke his leg kicking Weidman.

That was nuts! Sucks that Connor lost. It seems as though dudes in MMA who are dominating get to a point where they just start messing around and get caught. He was definitely winning and just seemed to not take his opponent seriously and that was all she wrote. Crazy how you can stop being the most badass guy on the planet after losing 1 fight

The main and co main were what makes MMA fun for me. Great back and forth action with a high level of drama and suspense. I think Connor didn't take Nate seriously and Nate made him pay. You can't expect to walk through a veteran like Nate, no matter how good you are.

Nah Conor took Nate seriously he just got caught, simple as that. In the post fight conference Conor said that when he started getting tagged he went into panic mode where Nate seemed to go into auto pilot. Conor handled the loss very well so that was nice to see.

Here it is again from 2/26. Stockon mother fucker!

How in the world am I just now finding out Kimbo Slice died almost a week ago? ESPN is so focused on the NBA Finals, their website didn't reflect on the home page. It's didn't even reflect on the home page with Ali's death.

They talked about it the whole day it happened. The day after, not so much. But it was on every episode of sports center that day.

Well, good. Unfortunately I don't get to watch sportscenter so I keep up with all of my sports updates on the Internet. It just seems like on the mobile website lately, it auto defaults to the NBA page and I have to select other sports to get updates. Months ago, whatever the hot story was always made it to the front page as, at least, a redirect link.

Yeah there was no lack of news coverage for Kimbo.

I guess Brock is going to be representing Canada now for UFC 200?! I knew his folks were from Southern Saskatchewan, but seems bizarre to me that he'll be donning our flag and colours on his fight gear.

I would love to see DC beat Jones and then I want Aldo to beat Edgar. Give Aldo his opportunity to prove that fight with Conor was a fluke

Also would love to see DC beat Jones, purely because he's been the ultimate "ultra-good, but not quite the best" athlete his entire career. Even now as champion, he is still not recognized as the best until he beats Jones. If he loses, he's basically the perennial silver-medalist for life. Love to see him win.

As far as Aldo goes, there will never be an opportunity for him to prove that his fight with Conor was a fluke. Mainly because nothing about that fight or its outcome was fluke at all. It's an infamous stain on his record forever, and he just has to live with that. A fight is something you get one chance at. The outcome is only a fluke if something unforseen and uncontrolled happens, like if Aldo slipped on a wet patch of canvas after he spit out some water and KO'ed himself hitting his head off the canvas resulting in a McGregor win. That would be a fluke. A perfectly timed left hook on the point of the jaw while your opponent leaves their guard open during a forward lunge is not a fluke, and it is not lucky. It is a precise, impressive knockout. I'm not a fan of McGregor's at all, but to call a beautiful KO like that a fluke is just a simple matter of not giving credit where credit is due. Would you call Aldo's 8-second KO over Cub Swanson a fluke? I wouldn't, the bell rang and Aldo immediately launched a perfect flying knee right on target to end the fight. There's nothing to say that a second fight with Aldo wouldn't end exactly the same way. It's already been proven that Aldo cannot withstand McGregor's power.

Maybe fluke isn't the right word but I think that fight was simply the result of a perfect storm. Conor is a great striker and he threw the perfect punch at the perfect time but I doubt that happens again considering Conor didn't do it before and hasn't done it since. Conor capitalized on a year long promo tour where he was touted as super human with Aldo swept up in the moment. No excuses or discredit given, that's what happened.

I don't mind Conor, he brings a lot of excitement to the UFC and I enjoy his fights. Hopefully he'll go defend his belt after Nate beats him again.

Aldo got beat mentally before the fight even started. You need to be in complete control of your emotions to beat McGregor. Nate was a perfect example of that.

All that trash talk and went into that fight like he had just rolled outta bed.

That's part of what I'm saying. Aldo endured a year long promo tour of the UFC sucking off McGregor and the world claiming he's super human. He was obviously not feeling comfortable come fight night. Once Nate beats Conor again I don't see that same situation happening again with Aldo if they were to fight again. First Aldo has a bitchin fight against Edgar, can't wait for that one.

I don't follow MMA but the coverage of Evangelista Santos' injury in the ring was stomach churning. The Pokemon thing would've been amusing if the dude's forehead wasn't caved in.

Santos took a devastating flying knee to the forehead from Michael Page which fractured his skull, and literally left a large knee imprint in his forehead. To Page's credit and somewhat in his defense, he couldn't have known how badly injured his opponent was at the time that he did that Pokemon celebration. But yes, truly a nasty injury. Very happy to see that the GoFundMe set up to cover his surgery costs has already been met and well exceeded after only 1 day.
