Nice, UncleTusk. But we still have to beat absolutsyd, and I'm pretty confident that I can. I was looking at the scores for this game on Twin Galaxies, I'm pretty sure I can beat a couple of those in the low 1 million, but my god,  one was in excess of 6 million.

We got a long week ahead, I think I'm starting out pretty good, but I am so going to try to win this, unlike the Tetris and Dr. Mario type games, this is something I think I have a chance in. I hope plenty of people are going to post their scores too, even if they aren't the top score, I like to see people trying at least.

I fail to see how you can get that 6 million score from twin galaxies... I know you get a million points for beating the end guy, but still, you'd have to have 5 million before you got to him. I want to see some proof of that score!

just got 956730, so I'm getting closer. If I didn't die for stupid reasons, i'd have it by now. oh well.

Well, while we probably won't get anywhere near that, I think we're still going to be able to rack up some really good worthy scores. But I dunno, seems possible enough to me, you got nearly a million by round 47, sure its probably just a fraction of what that person may've gotten by that point, but you can build up some massive score for multiple simultaneous kills, bust all the bubbles with enemies in them at once, get up to 16,000 points, maybe more, that's just the most I've caught attention to when I was playing. I haven't played this game enough to know all the ins and outs about it, beaten it twice a great many years ago, back in the late 80s early 90s, hadn't really played it much since except once in a while just to see how far I could get before using a continue, so I'm certainly not an expert at it, such as some of the super attacks that I had happen, those were pleasantly cool surprises that I may've seen long ago but didn't remember.

Decided to give the game a go. I was kicking ass until 57, still had 4 guys, ended up passing the level with 1 guy left and ended in the 60's. I may try again soon but so far here's my score 1.4 mil !!

Ouch. Now I really have my work cut out for me. I'll try again soon and post whatever I get.

Okay, gave it my all, 3 more games, broke a million points, so now I've got a new goal, well besides beating the current high score for the contest, getting over a million and a half.

I'm strongly suggesting a no-ROM policy. There's no need for EVERYONE to be in EVERY contest...i mean you don't givea man a race car just because he wants to race...

BB is not like a huge uber-1337 ultra cart-o-rarity...u can pick one up in a bargain bin (like i did) if the person doesnt know its worth a few bucks. I really think that this contest should be for people who own this cart, enjoy playing this cart, and are able to at least somewhat prove that they have done what they claimed.

When the next contest comes around next week, the same rules should apply. If common/fun games are continued as to being our contest-fodder, then there is no doubt in my mind that even the small time NES ppl out there will get a chance to compete.

God damn level 57, I hate it so much.  Why would they put that level in the game, whhhhyyyyyyyy??????

The name next to the pic just reinforces that its your pic, not one perhaps taken of the internet or something, so I definitely think the name thing makes perfect sense. I would think that it should be cart only as well (til I thought it over more), but regardless of what format you use, cart or emulator, taking a pic sometimes just isn't good enough, as NES_Dude said, what's to stop someone from cheating and having another NES connected up off screen with a Game Genie or something in it, while the one in the pic is its stunt double (funny, makes me think of Spaceballs), not any different than one using an emulator and using cheats such as save states, but that's where the whole trust thing comes in. So, cart or emulator, don't matter, if someone wants to cheat, they'll find a way regardless. Coarse video would be the best proof, but not everyone would have the means to be able to provide such recordings, so we've no choice but to trust that everyone play fair, and if they don't and end up cheating in some way just to get a free game, shame on them and I hope their NES blows up in the face.

Damn Andrew, just as I past your last highest score on here, you best me again. I like this, good competition going on here.

Yep cuz it really took a marathon gaming session to rack up 80k on Pac-Man last week. I had to take several days off from work to do it.....lol And also, you are fussing about the legitimacy of scores made on a program that is ILLEGAL to begin with... Unless u own the original game cartridge, in which case you should be playing it and coming up with real scores for the contest...
