Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the weekly contests!  We only have two more weeks left in the second half of 2013 and a tournament right around the corner, so this week's game should be a fun one.  With winter in full force, it's time to celebrate with some cold weather sports.  This week's game is gonna be Ski or Die.  Are you ready to ski or die?  Here are the rules:

  • Play in Compete Mode (Register your name on the clipboard)
  • You must play Downhill Blitz, Snowboard Half-Pipe, Snowball Blast, and Inner-Tube Thrash
  • Add all four scores together to get your final score
  • Take a picture of all four scores on the High Scores menu
  • Highest score wins
  • GENRE: Sports


The contest ends Sunday, 12/15/13 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

Incidentally, I believe this one is still on the "incomplete" list for the Beaten in 2013 thread...just throwing that out there for anyone who wants to help out

But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

As a kid I used to rent this and Skate or Die from a gas station right down the road.  Good memories.  

Using Downhill Blitz, Snowball Blast, and Inner-Tube Thrash from the first picture and Snowboard Half-pipe from the second.

Just a quick note that I forgot to mention last night. Everyone can take their top score in each event and add them up to get your overall score for the week. You don't have to redo all your scores each time you play. Be sure to keep older score pictures posted in the thread if you improve on one or two events, but not the other two.

updated score 54,313.

Fun game, use to rent this one as a kid and my copy survived college. I'm ok at it. I should have done the snowball blast last cause that was brutal on the thumb. If I have some more time this week, I see if I can improve upon the Innertube race.

updated 1 event. did better in innertube race. going to try one more time this week to update the downhill or maybe a better score at innertube.

I really enjoy this game (and the music) even though I'm not that great at it. I should have an updated score tonight.....hopefully anyway. In general I'm not sure why nes sports games get so much hate....most of them are fun to play,including this one.

i do not like sports games...but...i REALLY like NES sports games

weird, i know, but i dont like anything after NES as far as sports games

dunno why

maybe simplicity + nostelgia?

Probably. Not a huge sports guy on other systems although I do love some NHLPA 93 on the SNES.
