So Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came out for the Switch yesterday, and it's about as awesome as we all expected it to be. There's still that little twinge of bittersweetness that it's not Mario Kart 9 while you play it, but what it is is an incredibly fun and fully-featured extension of MK8 that fills a massive void in the Switch's lineup. Until now, there were no Switch games that you could play online with friends! Fast RMX has online MP, but you can't play against your friends, it's random opponents only. I don't believe any other Switch games support online MP with friends at the moment.

What a great game to kick it off, too. I was playing online with D~Funk and his girlfriend for a good part of the afternoon yesterday, and we had a blast! One fairly major gripe I have with the Switch at the moment is that there is no voice chat functionality. D~Funk and I had to chat using our PS4s while playing our Switches online! It felt very "jimmy-rigged" to play that way, but it was still a ton of fun. We had absolutely no problems connecting when it was only us racing against each other + AI, but we did run into some server brickwalls when trying to play online together against other players. The online servers were probably smoking and sparking over at Nintendo yesterday, so a few hiccups were expected.

Anyway the main reason I started this thread is to ask, who wants to play this weekend? I feel we could easily fill some rooms with NA members, there surely must be enough of us playing the game.
