Died on the boss at the end of 4-3. He is easy so I should be able to get to5-1. FYI u can throw boomerangs up and down. Didn't know that until my 2nd or 3rd run. You can also float to the bottom without dying on the 2-3 boss which makes him insanely easy. World 3 boss is tough if u don't kill him fast. Difficulty definitely ramps up in world 5 although I got to 5-3 withouttoo much trouble . I know we are only playing until 1 death but if u lose your item in this game you are so fucked. Oh I also forgot to mention u can super jump by holding down and then jumping. Another thing I found out by mistake.

Found a couple secret areas but failed pretty much instantly. Not sure if they r just for points. Probably watch a long play to see if I am missing anything else as the boomerang thing made the game way easier.

Level 5 the last level. Got to the final form of the last boss without dying. Basically missed it by one jump. Definitely aggravating as I went back to play him again and the first form seems to have some RNG attack the us really hard to dodge. Did end up beating the game eventually. Looks like Hudson soft spent a good afternoon making this game. Like 6 total enemies and the game can be completed in 20 min. I guess it was an early release.

The tips in this thread helped a lot. I basically just use Cody, group the enemies to one side of the screen, and just wail away on the punch button. His standard punches stop just about everything short of Katana/Sodom/s charge, Abigail's non-raging punch/grab, etc. Can even punch away the last boss's arrows.

Something I like to do that I haven't seen mentioned, is to do the jumping knee strike to stun enemies, and immediately jump kick, in the same jump. Just do the input to do the jumping knee, and immediately attack again while in mid-air to land the jump kick. Very helpful if jumping into a crowd, lessens the chance of one of the enemies swatting you out of the air.

Died to Abigail on my last run. Tips for him?

He is the hardest boss in the game IMO.  I stood at the very right of the screen and would move up and down and just special move when he got close.  It takes power but if he hits you you are pretty much dead.  Still took me a couple lives
 

Yeah, Abigail is a mofo. Try to get away from him and get him to turn red and charge at you. When he's rushing at you, you can punch him and get him into a combo. It's the times that he's not raging and just walks towards you that are the worst; all I can think of is to try and special attack, and hope he doesn't simply grab you with his insanely large reach.

Get to him with a sword and you can absolutely destroy him, although it can be tough to get to him without losing it.

If not, the best thing you can do, in my opinion, is initially take as much damage from him as possible by doing a grab and bashing him three times, then when he gets up give him a little bit of room and 'buffer' time. If he charges at you, I find a aerial attacks work best. If he doesn't charge then he can grab you right out of mid-air. You can also stand in the corner and special every time he gets within attacking distance. Kinda cheap, will probably cost you one life, but it's better than 4 or 5 if you go blow for blow. Definitely the hardest boss in the game.

Crazy about the 70 point difference in a total of 1.8 million!

I found for the dragon boss, the quicker you beat him the better. Typically you can spam him with about 12-15 hits before you even really have to move, then just worry about avoiding the first two lava spills. Once you get past those and hit him again he's typically going too fast for the lava to even spawn. One of the runs I had the other day I fell off him and killed him with my last upwards boomerang. The point screen came up as I was falling to my death... it wa pretty epic. Sadly, I died in a really stupid spot a few levels later.

Got to Abigail but had 0 lives and only half a health bar, so one or two slip-ups is all it took to demolish my attempt. May give it one more go but doubt I'll finish the game in time to rank with the big dogs. Seriously, my hats off to you guys. Final Fight can be quite the endurance test (on your thumbs and your patience).

3-4 Super Adventure Island 183,000

Died at the stupid snake boss. Forgot about the lava. This game isnt that hard, and if I put more time, I know I could beat it. I always die the dumbest cheap ways. Ill be making a good run and like in 3-1 the tree level, Ill jump up and a big mosquito will already randomly be right in my jump path and their was no way to avoid it.

Ive beaten this game before using continues. But with 1 continue I just cant get past Katana. I was super close. I struggle more at Katana with Cody but I get there with more lives. Haggar, I can do much better on bosses but get there with less lives. Got tired of playing so going ahead and posting a score by the deadline.

sweet got 2nd in super adventure island. 2nd to last i think in Final Fight lol.

There are definitely a couple troll spawns in this game. The rock mountain level 4-2(?) is ridiculous for that as well. Those jumping guys spawn out of nowhere when you're jumping up and soimetimes clip you without warning. Really lame. You're right though that the game isn't that hard overall in my opinion, just a few little things that can fuck you over. I think the snake boss is probably the hardest boss in the game and even he isn't that bad.
