I came across this oddity on Saturday - thought it was really odd to have an old DVD player in the case with gaming consoles. Upon closer inspection, I found the model, CDI 350, but was taken aback as I've never heard of a portable CDi, only the ones that look like a VHS player that I've seen quite a few people on NA find at Goodwill.
I flag down an employee and ask to see the case and accessories, and to my surprise he plops down a Pelican 1520 case containing the AC adapter, some cables, a game and the remote. The case although wasn't the original one, it was certainly an upgrade; it felt indestructable and it must weigh almost 10 pounds just by itself!
I wasn't able to find any sources to perhaps place a value on it, so I blindly paid $150 for it, and although the speakers don't work, I'm still very hyped I finally own a CD-i now!

Even has the protector for transport!

For many years, I've been on the bench about the Sega Saturn. The past 10 years or so of hunting, I've only ever picked up 3 Saturns. Of course, none had any cables or games, and the one controller I had ironically came with a Genesis I bought. However, that changed when I walked into Bookmans today. I broke down and pulled the trigger on this:
Conveniently, they also had a Sega Saturn there for $40. I bought it even though it killed me that knowing that I had a Saturn at home, but it would kill me more having this game and not being able to play it...
So I get home, plug it in and was once again stymied. My TV did not have an S-Video input. Determined to not lose, I dig up an old LCD TV and was pleased to find S-Video support. Finally, I get to play. After about 30-40 minutes of play, I save the game, take a break and came back to only a "New Game" option. Not even having considered how the save system works, I finally find out that there is a small amount of on-board memory that is kept alive by a CR2032, which in my case was dead. It looks like it's time to start hunting for a memory cart!
Overall this has been an fun, yet frustrating dive into the world of Sega Saturn.
The past 6 months...
Even though I haven't had the time to update this thread, I've been busy hunting for games to add to my collection. I very rarely buy anything older than 6th generation games online and only add things that I find locally to my collection. Here are some highlights that I picked up the last 6 months or so:
While I did not get these at a steal, I was able to get most of them at below market price though in trade credit. I did pay over market on Metal Warriors though, a whopping $250 though in trade credit. Most copies of Metal Warriors I've seen online were either fake or have some sort of label damage, and while this one isn't pristine it looks better than average. The Suikoden II was from Amazon Warehouse Deals, priced at $52 with Prime Shipping.
I've also gone on a little Download Station spree, all of which was picked up online, the box and a Volume 10 cart were from NA member "thecartridgegamer":
