What a weird game. The level 6 boss gives you almost a million points and a shit-ton of lives. Almost made it to Gofer, the final boss, but ran into one of Konami's "ha-ha, fuck you!" traps just before reaching him. A
Tried to fight my way back, but there were no checkpoints and not enough power-ups.

I think that million point score was some sort of glitch. I haven't been able to come close to replicating it.

The game loops, but between the 100+ degree weather and, well, playing Gradius II, I decided to quit while I was ahead. Also, the first time I no deathed a game first time beating it.

Anyhoo, another notch for the leaderboard.

The general premise of this game is interesting, and the branching paths are novel, but the actual levels are a bit of a snoozer.

I actually didn't defeat the round 4 second boss; you only get so much time before the game starts scrolling again and you leave the boss behind. Then the round 5 boss fight has those Capcom Yashichis come at you in waves while you're battling a boss that has numerous gunports, one of which takes a billion hits to destroy. In short, Capcom or Tokuma Shoten or whoever designed this game hates children and puppies.

Yeah man I plan to update this soon. Once I get a bit of spare time at work, probably over lunch sometime this week.

Neither score is great, but I don't see Super R-Type on the list.
