Don't know if I'll be able to "keep" any of this yet but I just got back from the flea market with this... Definitely NOT an April Fools joke

Just googled for this and you’re right!

$5K in NES Golf:

I was thinking that they were used to smuggle product after bitcoin transactions on Silk Road or something but seeing that the payments were sent that way too kinda explains how an NTSC Golf game made a round-trip and arrived back here with a PAL game.

The story originated here.

That was the first thing that came to mind too, I was just too lazy to search for the old thread

I've been told not to say certain things for legal reasons so, hopefully without revealing too much, I'll describe the better look I got several minutes after the video ended. The foil bags contained a clear bag inside. My brother cut through both in the video but we got to see an entire clear bag extracted soon after that. The grains are coarse. Like, more coarse than typical sand. Almost pebble-like and there were a few pebble-sized chunks. One of those chunks was described as "cloudy" but I wouldn't say it looked clear. I'm color-blind so don't count on me to correctly describe color or hues but I definitely wouldn't describe any of it as white. Off-white, perhaps a light brownish color. I hesitate to call that a "powder" though I believe my brother called it a powder as soon as he lifted the flap.

Does all that fit with what you think it was?

The grains were inconsistent. It was mostly like powder with coarse grains of varying size mixed in.

IBTL. Good score CZroe. Now turn it in to the cops before something bad happens. Seriously...

I would have taken photos, kept them, made backups, then handed over the evidence to the cops before posting about it online. Also you are braver than I would have been by piercing the baggies.

Ding ding ding. A lethal dose of Carfentanil is the size of a grain of salt. Not worth it to satisfy the curiosity.

Yes, it does. Don't handle it any further whatever you do, and call the police.

If this distributor had my sense of humour, he would've used a copy of M.U.L.E., not Golf.

Hope you were wearing gloves and m95 respirator when cutting into those, if it is fentanyl and you inhale it it will overdose you real quick and you don't seem like the kind of person that would need Narcan laying around the house lol.

Context clues lead me to believe the Brothers Turner have already handed this off to the authorities, and appear to still be alive as well.

Yeah.

Given that one of the bags was cut fully into (per CZroe's comments), I'd still want to go back and fully decontaminate the workspace, though.

Well, I mean, it's also possible that I "made it disappear" some other way and stupidly kept drawing attention to myself, but, ya know: I can neither confirm nor deny.

Holy hell, what a story. I wouldn't believe it if retrogaming wasn't as tight as it is, congrats on the find I guess? Lol.

Well, I'm waiting on word before sharing more but in the mean time, I was making a comparison of the damaged PAL Rollergames board to an intact PAL Rollergames board pic from the BootGod NEScartDB when I noticed this:

It's not the right game. PAL-W6-0 is PAL Isolated Warrior, not PAL Rollergames (PAL-U5-0). That means the smugglers were handling at least one more title than we were previously aware of and the boards got swapped. I asked the vendor if he has a copy of Isolated Warrior but I'm still waiting on a response.

It's happened before
Thanks. It’s looking more and more prevalent. If people are losing track of them or getting busted often enough that we get so many glimpses, imagine how much of this is going on unseen.
