Please keep in mind that Koover is an online name of my friend, i obviously dont wanna tell anyone online his real name:

As me and Koover walked from the parkinglot into this giant structure, we felt as excited as a kid in a toystore, we were with our own kind, but more importantly we would be able to play games before they were released. We asked a lady where to get our badges, she pointed to some line, that line was wrong, so we were redirectly to another line. About 4 lines later we got our badges (luckly no one was waiting but us and a few others). We looked as we went up the escalator and saw a standee for G4's attack of the show and Xplay, most likely where they would film the show tonight, when the doors are closed to public but press can still go for a few more hours.

As we were able to view through the door upstairs, we saw what looked like a party, but relaxed, posters and lights were all over the place, and a lady gave us wii remote light up keychains and told us that "that one tennis game is her favorite" (when she left we called her a n00b).

We were in line for mario galaxies, although it took a while, it was definetely worth it, the graphics were crisp and detailed, the gameplay was unmatched, and the physics were just amazing how the gravity pulls you in and all 9/10. While I played this plumber gravity spectacular Koover went to wait for smashbros.

When i finished i went over to see these bleachers full of people watching smashbros on a giant screen, but I did not see koover. I waited through the rows of bleachers til I got to go down and play on another tv behind the big screen (apparently their were 4 other tvs and the winners of those 4 matches competed on big screen). It was my first time playing and i hate no clue how the controls worked, I was pathetic, i dint know what the hell I was doing, but at least all participants got a wii t-shirt.

After about an hour from our separation I finally found that behind the wall of bleachers there was a whole row of tvs for one on one brawl matches with only 10-15 minute waiting times, there I find koover, who had played brawl twice already. We ate our lunch and came upstairs.

We played some Super Smash Brothers Brawl matches, the game was pure fun, even watching it was fun, the assist trophies are an awesome addition (little mac and excitebike are my favs) while the final smash is just plain awesome. My opinion about smash brothers is it has a golden ratio of serious fighting and goofy fun quirks that entertain all players 10/10! The graphics are clear and detailed, controls might take a match or 2 getting used to but once you do, its insanely fun.

Later someone told us about a smash bros melee tournament. I told koover he should go go, so we walked all the way across the place to find the tournament which was a huge ass line that we knew wouldnt be worth waiting in. So on our way back I saw some people selling old games so I told Koover I'd meet with him at brawl. The lady wanted 25$ for the snes yoshis island and 12$ for mario 3 nes so I obviously didnt buy any of her crap.

Than I saw Contra 4 with no line whatsoever, it was awesome, like the oldschool contra, there was some device it must of been hooked up to cause there was a TV overhead that displayed the game but with a lot worse resolution than the ds screen did. That game was awesome, its just like the oldschool contra except everything although 2D is really detailed, its still hard as hell (and I was on easy mode) to beat the level, but it was awesome. All the power ups are there from the old game, rapid fire, laser, rockets etc. One new addition is by pressing the X button the player sends a grapple line straight up that grabs onto some objects (towers , platforms etc). After 3 or 4 tries I got to a mini boss (some alien pod that shoots down on you) where I died and gave up, but it left me with a feeling of nostalgia, like the nes contra, the only problem is their is nothing new I saw from the old games besides the grapple 8/10

As I was walking back I got another wii remote keychain (lol) and me and koover played some more brawl. I filmed him playing, but those bastards kept make me change my angle so im "not zoomed in on the screen but see people playing also" and i did have some people in their but those jack asses kept hagling me, they were total dicks, but that was my only bad experience. We played more brawl (schweet as ever) saw an assist trophy where a metroid attacked a player, and where a girl starts shooting everyone and heard some guy yell behind me "Its Saaki from Sin and Punishment. Ohh my god this game is awesome!" We also discovered a lightning item that shrunk us both on screen, and what appeared to be deku nuts from the zelda games, which when hit/ thrown, created an interior layer of explosion, and an exterior layer that stunned anyone in contact with it for a pretty decent amount of time. We were intrigued by these new items that nintendo hid in their demo.

Later I felt like playing some more Contra while Koover played brawl of course. I got a bit farther than the miniboss but died, later I saw an opening to mario party DS, having 2 different tvs above it (one for top screen, one for bottom) I only played it for a few mini games, and I was really unimpressed, the game just isn't fun, the minigames dont even make good use of the touch screen, graphics are ok (nothing great), the music (from what I could hear over all the clutter) was really mediocre, one thing that was good was they took all the stupid blathering from the newer mario parties out, so you dont have to go to 4 minutes of text to play a 1 minute minigame, maybe the 4 turns i played were just crappy, but it really was not a fun experience, more of a waste of time, 3/10 and im not too picky when it comes to games.

On my way back to the brawl booth the wii zapper section caught my attention, too much press people were cutting in line for link's crossbow training (looks like twilight princess mixed with umbrella chronicles) so I went to the booth for a game called Ghost Squad. The wii zapper is just awesome, its like an arcade shooter game but it just feels solid, altough often criticized as a hunk of plastic, it totally changed the gameplay experience, for a 20$ pricetag and being packaged with links crossbow training, its a steal.

About Ghost Squadron, it was one of the funnest games i've played in years, it was really exciting, from grenades being thrown at you to men popping out right in front of your face, it was awesome, and while you fight little cutscenes happen where the commander tells you what to do, and sometimes you make decisions (like which way to go), so one time I brought us into a combatted fight that involved changing the position of one hand on the A button, while I pointed at the man and hit the button to stab, whats weird is that possition, holding the bottom part of zapper normally while placing the hand on the top part over the wii remote to hit the A button felt as if you were holding a dagger, it was really strange. I actually decided which area of forest to go to, i shot at enemies while I used the knife technique to defuse some land mines, than, i thought it was over, as were the characters in the game, but the commander has a spur of the moment mission for you, and instantly you are on a speed boat, shooting at all these other boats that are shooting at you. It was a pure adrenalin rush, than we came to an armored boat where we had to blow out the walls with our new rapid fire guns (forget the name of them) and throw a grenade in before it regenerates. After the boat was exploding and started to sink it was all over, than out of nowhere, someone with a shield starts throwing all these bombs at us, while his boat sinks, wee had to put a crapload of fire into his shield, but when it finally broke, he owned him, I looked next to me to see my fighting party with a huge smile on her face, this game was just awesome 9/10

Also I give the wii zapper package a 10/10, its totally gonna be worth the 20$. After that I went and played some final matches of Brawl with Koover, it was an awesome day, that we would most likely remember for the rest of our lives, but it was time to leave, we left with a feeling of satisfaction, like we were on top of the world.

That was the main reason my friend wanted to go in the first place, and it was just awesome, I love the day we went here, there was screw attack, gametrailers, a g4 film crew, and because you had to pay to enter there were short lines!
