Your missing out though. You can't beat the smell of a freshly opened sealed game, one of the best smells in the world my friend.

I will admit in the past that was the first thing I did when I opened them. Some one should bottle that as an air freshener. New game scent!!!

lol, "the smell".

I've had many conversations with my old roommate about that smell...the greatest smell in the world! Also, that first crack on a manual, such a good noise.

Maybe I'll just open my entire sealed collection so that my entire house reeks of sealed games. Then I will never leave!!!

^ I wouldn't jump to that conclusion unless this game doesn't have an oval seal version (anyone know if it does?). If there's an oval seal, we need to open that, if not, this issue may finally be resolved...

I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

blue cart, blue back label
blue sleeve (with robot and bats pictured)

Plus it has a really nice Sega Genesis/NES brochure in it, one side is NES and one is Genny. It talks about several games like Hellraiser and Escape from Atlantis as well, no code on it.
There aren't any items #'s on anything of course. LMK if you need anything else.

It's probably a good idea to list which Euro version it was, because there's three different ones:  French, German, and probably Italian, too.  Does the fold-up manual have multiple languages or just a single one?

hey so the wiz is gone for a while it sounds... i'd be more than happy to volunteer my unemployed time to this cause, that is unless someone else is already on top of it. I need a reason to hang out here and I have a few sealed games I wouldn't mind opening.

Still gonna update this periodically Josh...but if you want to keep track and send the info my way via email once in a while when I don't drop by, by all means go for it

Well open them up and list them here, qix but you'd have a hard time wresting this project away from Mike. Even though he's not around the forum much anymore, he's still keeping this faq up-to-date on his computer and will (presumably) be updating the public file posted on gamefaqs every once in a long while...

EDIT - Wow! The one time Mike posts, he actually beats me to the punch on responding to qixmaster o_o

I'm actually surprised how much got added...when I'm here, nobody opens shit. When I'm gone, I got too much to do to get anywhere before leaving for work. I got up to Pedro's post in, going to have to finish when I get home. And NGD, let me know which languages are used so I can figure out which region to list both Galactic Crusader and P'radikus as. Thanks bro Also, I must have missed the post with Section Z hangtab version listed, because it's not on my list, and I can't seem to find it. Linkage perhaps?

I think having someone else (like Josh) having an updated copy of the list would be wise, just in case your computer fizzes out. It would be a real tragedy if that info were lost.

Thing is, all the submissions would be re-attainable...they're all in my PM box (I don't delete anything), my email inbox (again, I don't delete shit), and in this thread, and the file that was up-to-date in January.  I used to send Dr. Morbis an updated copy every now and then, and I'll probably do the same thing once I get the list fully updated, just in case (hate having to redo the work, even if I have all the info available).

I think the best help would be if someone posts something and I haven't been around in a while, just pop me a message.  I'm VERY anal about how shit gets listed Any help you could provide though would be very much appreciated.  I'm certainly willing to send you a mostly up-to-date copy of the list (I usually don't update the total game count until I'm ready to update...really lazy ) but the info's usually up to date aside from that...might help if there's some variant info that should be added to a game that I may have overlooked.

I'm going to list the sleeves as their most common variant, but there's actually 4 sleeve variants for licenced games, so if you can double check them, it'd be greatly appreciated.  The Nintendo sleeves have the regular one and the somewhat rarer foil version found on later releases.  Conversely, the black sleeves have a normal flat look, and a textured look.  The difference is only noticable if you know what to look for...basically the leather look is much more pronounced on the later released "textured" variant.  Only seen one game that I've opened so far with a textured sleeve, so it's a safe bet they're probably all regular ones, but there's a possiblility that any one of those games had a textured one (except Dance Aerobics, which may be identical to one of the ones on the list, I'll have to look).  Also, the poster that came with Dance Aerobics does NOT have an ID code anywhere.  If you could take a picture of the poster, it'll help, as there's several variants of it that have different games on it.  If not, I wouldn't worry too much...just list off the games in the top left corner and I'll figure out which one it is.  And thanks for opening such tough-to-find sealed titles...looks like me and the ol' Doctor have some new crazy joining the club
